王因为曾与扫罗的儿子约拿单指着耶和华起誓结盟，就爱惜扫罗的孙子、约拿单的儿子米非波设，不交出来，

王顾惜扫罗的孙子，约拿单的儿子米非波设，因为在大卫和扫罗的儿子约拿单之间，有指着耶和华的誓言。

大卫王因为与扫罗的儿子约拿单在耶和华面前起过誓，就没有把扫罗的孙子、约拿单的儿子米非波设交出来。

王顾惜扫罗的孙子、约拿单的儿子米非波设，因为大卫与扫罗的儿子约拿单，曾经在耶和华面前有过誓约。

The king spared Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, because of the oath before the Lord between David and Jonathan son of Saul.

The king spared Mephibosheth. He was the son of Jonathan and the grandson of Saul. David had made a promise in front of the Lord. He had promised to be kind to Jonathan and the family line of his father Saul.

But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Saul’s son Jonathan, because of the oath of the Lord that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.

The king spared Jonathan’s son Mephibosheth, who was Saul’s grandson, because of the oath David and Jonathan had sworn before the Lord.

David spared Mephibosheth, the son of Saul’s son Jonathan, because of the oath of the LORD that was between David and Jonathan, Saul’s son.

就是耶和华从地面逐一剪除大卫仇敌的时候，你也永不可向我家断绝恩惠。”

于是二人在耶和华面前立约。大卫仍住在树林里，约拿单就回家去了。

求你施恩于仆人，因你在耶和华面前曾与仆人立约。我若有罪孽，你就亲自杀死我，何必把我交给你父亲呢？”

约拿单爱大卫如同爱自己的性命，就与他立约。

扫罗的儿子约拿单有一个儿子，名叫米非波设，是瘸腿的。扫罗和约拿单的消息从耶斯列传来的时候，他才五岁。他的奶妈抱着他逃跑；因为跑得太急，孩子掉在地上，腿就瘸了。

约拿单对大卫说：“你平平安安地去吧！因为我们二人曾指着耶和华的名起誓说：‘愿耶和华在你我中间，以及你我后裔中间作证，直到永远。’”大卫就起身走了，约拿单也回城里去了。

你、你的众子和仆人要为你主人的儿子耕种田地，把所收获的拿来供他食用；你主人的儿子米非波设却要常与我同席吃饭。”洗巴有十五个儿子和二十个仆人。

约拿单因爱大卫如同爱自己的性命，就叫他再起誓。

王对洗巴说：“看哪，凡属米非波设的都是你的了。”洗巴说：“我叩拜我主我王，愿我在你眼前蒙恩宠。”

他来迎接王的时候，王对他说：“米非波设，你为什么没有与我同去呢？”

大卫对他说：“你不要惧怕，我必因你父亲约拿单的缘故向你施恩，把你祖父扫罗的一切田地都归还你，你也可以常与我同席吃饭。”
