let seven of his male descendants be given to us to be killed and their bodies exposed before the Lord at Gibeah of Saul— the Lord’s chosen one.” So the king said,“ I will give them to you.”

So let seven of the males in his family line be given to us. We’ll kill them. We’ll put their dead bodies out in the open in the sight of the Lord. We’ll do it at Gibeah of Saul. Saul was the Lord’ s chosen king.” So King David said,“ I’ll give seven males to you.”

let seven of his sons be given to us, so that we may hang them before the Lord at Gibeah of Saul, the chosen of the Lord.” And the king said,“ I will give them.”

So let seven of Saul’s sons be handed over to us, and we will execute them before the Lord at Gibeon, on the mountain of the Lord.”“ All right,” the king said,“ I will do it.”

撒母耳對眾民說：“你們看見耶和華所揀選的人沒有？在眾人中沒有一個可與他相比。”眾人就大聲歡呼：“願王萬歲！”

掃羅也回基比亞自己的家裡去了，有一些勇士與他一起回去；他們的心都被神感動。

耶和華對摩西說：“把人民的首領都捉來，在我耶和華面前對著太陽把他們懸掛起來，好使耶和華的烈怒可以轉消，不向以色列人發作。”於是摩西對以色列的審判官說：“你們各人要把與巴力．毗珥連合的人都殺了。”

使者到了掃羅住的基比亞，把這些話說給眾民聽，眾民就都放聲大哭。

隨後，約書亞把那五個王殺死，懸在五棵樹上；他們就懸在樹上，直到晚上。

三天之內，法老必砍下你的頭來，把你掛在木頭上，必有飛鳥來吃你身上的肉。”

他又把艾城的王懸在樹上，直到黃昏的時候；日落的時候，約書亞吩咐人把屍體從樹上拿下來，丟在城門口那裡，又在屍體上堆起了一大堆石頭，這堆石頭一直存到今日。

“明天大約這個時候，我要差派一個人從便雅憫地到你那裡去，你要膏立他作我子民以色列人的領袖。他要拯救我的子民脫離非利士人的手。我眷顧了我的子民，因為他們的哀求已經達到我這裡。”撒母耳看見了掃羅，耶和華就對撒母耳說：“你看，這就是我對你所說的那人，他要統治我的子民。”

猶大把銀子丟進聖所，然後離開，出去吊死了。

這十個人就是哈米大他的孫子、哈曼的兒子，猶大人的敵人；至於財物，猶大人卻沒有下手掠奪。

以斯帖回答：“王若是同意，求你恩准書珊的猶大人，明日也照著今日的諭旨行事，把哈曼的十個兒子掛在木架上。”王就下令這樣行；諭旨傳遍書珊，人就把哈曼的十個兒子掛在木架上。

撒母耳拿了一瓶膏油，倒在掃羅的頭上，又與他親吻，說：“耶和華不是已經膏立你作他產業的領袖嗎？

有一個人看見了，就告訴約押說：“看哪！我看見押沙龍懸在一棵橡樹上。”

亞希多弗見自己的謀略不被採納，就預備了驢子，起程往本城自己的家去。他安排好了家裡的事，就上吊死了，埋葬在他父親的墳墓裡。

我又下令：無論甚麼人更改這命令，就要從他的房屋中拆出一根梁木，把他掛起，釘在木上；又使他的房屋成為糞堆。

“如果人犯了該死的罪，被處死以後，你就把他掛在木頭上；

那時，他們要求立一個王，神就把便雅憫支派中一個人，基士的兒子掃羅，賜給他們作王，共四十年之久。

法老卻把膳長掛起來，正如約瑟給他們的解釋一樣。
