我年老的时候，求你不要丢弃我；我气力衰弱的时候，求你不要离弃我。

现在你看，自从耶和华对摩西说了这话以后，耶和华照着所应许的，使我活了这四十五年，就是以色列人在旷野行走的时期；现在你看，我今日已经是八十五岁了。今日我还是强壮，像摩西派我去的那天一样；无论是作战，或是出入，那时我的力量怎样，现在我的力量还是怎样。

那时，看守房子的发抖，强壮的弯腰，推磨的稀少，都停了工，往窗外看的都昏暗了，

非利士人听见有人膏立了大卫作王统治以色列人，就全体上来搜寻大卫。大卫听见了，就下到保障去。

非利士人又上来，散布在利乏音谷。

于是大卫照着耶和华所吩咐他的去作，击杀非利士人，从迦巴直到基色。

你不知道吗？你没有听过吗？永在的神、耶和华、地极的创造主既不疲乏，也不困倦；他的知识无法测度。疲乏的，他赐气力，无力的，他加力量。就是年轻人也会疲乏困倦，强壮的人也会全然跌倒。

我的肉身和我的内心虽然渐渐衰弱，神却永远是我心里的磐石，是我的业分。

这事以后，以色列人在基色与非利士人交战；那时户沙人西比该击杀了巨人的一个儿子细派，非利士人就被制伏了。

神啊！到我年老发白的时候，求你仍不要离弃我，等我把你的能力向下一代传扬，把你的大能向后世所有的人传扬。

耶和华这样说：“智慧人不可夸耀自己的智慧，勇士不可夸耀自己的勇力，财主不可夸耀自己的财富。夸口的却要因了解我，认识我而夸口；认识我是耶和华，我在地上施行慈爱、公正、公义；因为我喜悦这些事。”这是耶和华的宣告。

因为“所有的人（“人”原文作“肉体”），尽都如草，他们的荣美，都像草上的花；草必枯干，花必凋谢，唯有主的道，永远长存。”所传给你们的福音就是这道。
