于是王逮捕了爱雅的女儿利斯巴为扫罗所生的两个儿子：亚摩尼和米非波设，和扫罗的女儿米拉（按照《马索拉文本》，“米拉”作“米甲”；现参照其他文本和《七十士译本》翻译；参撒上18:19）为米何拉人巴西莱的儿子亚得列所生的五个儿子，把他们交在基遍人的手里。基遍人就在山上耶和华面前把他们处决，这七人就一同倒毙了。他们被处死的时候，正是收获季节之初，就是开始收割大麦的时候。

让我们认识，竭力追求认识耶和华。他必定出现，像晨光一样，他必临到我们，如雨水一般，又像滋润大地的春雨。

以利亚对亚哈说：“你上去吃喝吧！因为已经有下大雨的响声了。”亚哈就上去吃喝。以利亚上了迦密山顶，屈身在地，把脸放在两膝之间。以利亚对自己的仆人说：“你上去向海那边观看。”他就上去观看，说：“什么也没有。”以利亚说：“你再回去观看。”这样说了七次。到第七次，仆人说：“我看到一小片乌云，好像人的手掌那么大，正在从海里升上来。”以利亚说：“你上去告诉亚哈：‘赶快套车下山，免得被大雨所阻。’”霎时之间，天空因风云而变为黑暗，随着降下大雨来。于是亚哈坐上了车，往耶斯列去了。

牲畜发出哀鸣，牛群到处流荡，因为没有草场给它们，羊群也同样受苦。

锡安的人民哪！你们要欢喜，要靠耶和华你们的神快乐，因为他赐给了你们合时的秋雨。他给你们降下时雨，就是秋雨春雨，像以前一样。

列国虚无的偶像中，有可以降雨的吗？天能自降甘霖吗？耶和华我们的神啊！能够这样作的，不是只有你吗？所以我们仰望你，因为这一切都是你所作的。

三天之内，法老必砍下你的头来，把你挂在木头上，必有飞鸟来吃你身上的肉。”

他们心里也不想想：‘我们应当敬畏耶和华我们的神，他按时赐雨，就是秋雨春霖，又为我们保存定时收割的节令。’你们的罪孽使这些都离开了，你们的罪恶剥夺了你们的幸福。
