So all the men of Israel withdrew from following David and followed Sheba the son of Bichri; but the men of Judah remained loyal to their king, from the Jordan even to Jerusalem.

So all the men of Israel deserted David to follow Sheba son of Bikri. But the men of Judah stayed by their king all the way from the Jordan to Jerusalem.

So all the men of Israel deserted David. They followed Sheba, the son of Bikri. But the men of Judah stayed with their king. They remained with him from the Jordan River all the way to Jerusalem.

As a result of this many of His disciples left, and would no longer walk with Him.So Jesus said to the twelve,“ You do not want to leave also, do you?”Simon Peter answered Him,“ Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life.

The king then returned and came as far as the Jordan. And the men of Judah came to Gilgal in order to go to meet the king, to escort the king across the Jordan.

The beginning of strife is like letting out water, So abandon the quarrel before it breaks out.

People of low standing are only breath, and people of rank are a lie; In the balances they go up. Together they are lighter than breath.

It is better to take refuge in the Lord Than to trust in people.It is better to take refuge in the Lord Than to trust in noblemen.All nations surrounded me; In the name of the Lord I will certainly fend them off.

Now the king went on to Gilgal, and Chimham went on with him; and all the people of Judah and also half the people of Israel accompanied the king.And behold, all the men of Israel came to the king and said to the king,“ Why have our brothers, the men of Judah, abducted you and brought the king and his household and all David’s men with him, over the Jordan?”

But as for the sons of Israel who lived in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.
