One of Joab’s soldiers who stood over Amasa said,“ Whoever is for Joab and whoever is for David, follow Joab!”

One of Joab’s men stood beside Amasa and said,“ Whoever favors Joab, and whoever is for David, let him follow Joab!”

One of Joab’s men stood beside Amasa’s body. He said to the other men,“ Are you pleased with Joab? Are you on David’s side? Then follow Joab!”

And one of Joab’s young men took his stand by Amasa and said,“ Whoever favors Joab, and whoever is for David, let him follow Joab.”

One of Joab’s young men shouted to Amasa’s troops,“ If you are for Joab and David, come and follow Joab.”

One of Joab’s young men had stood over Amasa saying,“ Whoever favors Joab and whoever is for David, follow Joab!”

Now one of Joab’s young men stood by him and said,“ Whoever favors Joab and whoever is for David, follow Joab!”

Meanwhile one of Joab’s men stood near Amasa, and said,“ Whoever favors Joab and whoever is for David— follow Joab!”

And there stood by him one of Joab’s young men, and said, He that favoreth Joab, and he that is for David, let him follow Joab.

One of Joab’s young men had stood over Amasa saying,“ Whoever favors Joab and whoever is for David, follow Joab!”

And one of Joab’s men stood by him, and said, He that favoureth Joab, and he that[ is] for David,[ let him go] after Joab.

One of Joab’s young men stood by him, and said,“ He who favors Joab, and he who is for David, let him follow Joab!”

Once he had removed Amasa from the path, everyone followed Joab to pursue Sheba son of Bicri.

That’s not the way things are. There is a man from the hill country of Ephraim named Sheba son of Bicri. He has rebelled against King David. Give me just this one man, and I will leave the city.” The woman said to Joab,“ This very minute his head will be thrown over the wall to you!”

Then the king said to Amasa,“ Call the men of Judah together for me in three days, and you be present here with them too.”

Then David said to Abishai,“ Now Sheba son of Bicri will cause greater disaster for us than Absalom did! Take your lord’s servants and pursue him. Otherwise he will secure fortified cities for himself and get away from us.”So Joab’s men, accompanied by the Kerethites, the Pelethites, and all the warriors, left Jerusalem to pursue Sheba son of Bicri.

He looked up at the window and said,“ Who is on my side? Who?” Two or three eunuchs looked down at him.
