第三日，大卫和他的人到了洗革拉。亚玛力人已经侵夺尼革夫和洗革拉。他们攻破洗革拉，用火焚烧。

凡生活窘迫的、欠债的、心里苦恼的都聚集到大卫那里，他就作他们的领袖，跟随他的约有四百人。

把犹大山区的基列‧亚巴，就是希伯仑，和四围的郊野给了他们。亚巴是亚衲族的祖先。但是，这城的田地和所属的村庄却给了耶孚尼的儿子迦勒为业。

于是，大卫出发，他和跟随他的六百人来到比梭溪，那些不能前去的就留在那里。大卫带着四百人往前追赶；有二百人疲乏，不能过比梭溪，留在那里。
