Abner said again to Asahel,“ Turn away from following me. Why should I strike you to the ground? How then could I look Joab your brother in the face?”

押尼珥又对亚撒黑说：“你转开不追赶我吧！我何必杀你呢？若杀你，有什么脸见你哥哥约押呢？”

押尼珥又对亚撒黑说：“转开，不要再追我了！我何必把你击杀在地上呢？我若杀了你，怎么有脸见你哥哥约押呢？”

押尼珥又对亚撒黑说：“转开，不要再追我了！我何必把你击杀在地上呢？我若杀了你，怎么有脸见你哥哥约押呢？”

押尼珥又对他说：“快走开吧，非逼我杀你吗？我若杀了你，还有何颜面见你哥哥约押呢？”

押尼珥再一次对亚撒黑说：“你离开，别追赶我！我为什么要把你砍倒在地上呢？以后怎么还有脸见你的哥哥约押呢？”

押尼珥又對亞撒黑說：「你轉開不追趕我吧！我何必殺你呢？若殺你，有甚麼臉見你哥哥約押呢？」

押尼珥又對亞撒黑說：「轉開，不要再追我了！我何必把你擊殺在地上呢？我若殺了你，怎麼有臉見你哥哥約押呢？」

押尼珥又對亞撒黑說：「轉開，不要再追我了！我何必把你擊殺在地上呢？我若殺了你，怎麼有臉見你哥哥約押呢？」

押尼珥又對他說：「快走開吧，非逼我殺你嗎？我若殺了你，還有何顏面見你哥哥約押呢？」

押尼珥再一次對亞撒黑說：“你離開，別追趕我！我為甚麼要把你砍倒在地上呢？以後怎麼還有臉見你的哥哥約押呢？”

押尼珥又再對亞撒黑說：『你轉開不跟着我吧；我何必將你擊殺到地上呢？我若殺你，怎有臉面去見你哥哥約押呢？

押尼珥再次對亞撒暉說：「你轉開不要追我了！我何必把你擊殺在地呢？那樣我怎麼有臉見你的哥哥約押呢？」

押尼珥曰、其偏之、不我追、奚使我擊爾仆地、若然、我何面目、與爾兄約押相見、

押尼耳曰、姑舍我、毋庸追、恐我擊爾、爾若仆地、我何面目、與爾兄相見。

押尼珥又謂亞撒黑曰、爾離我勿追、恐我擊爾於地、我若殺爾、我何面目見爾兄約押乎、

Again Abner warned Asahel,“ Stop chasing me! Why should I strike you down? How could I look your brother Joab in the face?”

Again Abner warned Asahel,“ Stop chasing me! If you don’t, I’ll strike you down. Then how could I look your brother Joab in the face?”

And Abner said again to Asahel,“ Turn aside from following me. Why should I strike you to the ground? How then could I lift up my face to your brother Joab?”

Again Abner shouted to him,“ Get away from here! I don’t want to kill you. How could I ever face your brother Joab again?”

Once again, Abner warned Asahel,“ Stop chasing me. Why should I strike you to the ground? How could I ever look your brother Joab in the face?”

Then Abner repeated again to Asahel,“ Turn aside for your own good from following me. Why should I strike you to the ground? How then could I show my face to your brother Joab?”

So Abner said again to Asahel,“ Turn aside from following me. Why should I strike you to the ground? How then could I face your brother Joab?”

And Abner said again to Asahel, Turn thee aside from following me: wherefore should I smite thee to the ground? how then should I hold up my face to Joab thy brother?

Once again, Abner warned Asahel,“ Stop chasing me. Why should I strike you to the ground? How could I ever look your brother Joab in the face?”

And Abner said again to Asahel, Turn thee aside from following me: wherefore should I smite thee to the ground? how then should I hold up my face to Joab thy brother?

So Abner spoke again to Asahel,“ Turn aside from following me! I do not want to strike you to the ground. How then could I show my face in the presence of Joab your brother?”

When Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside into the middle of the gate to speak with him quietly, and struck him there in the body, so that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.

You have indeed struck Edom, and your heart has lifted you up.
