則率眾欲與之戰、遇之於基遍、大川之濱。

昔約押不從押沙龍、後從亞多尼雅、今聞王所為、則遁於耶和華會幕、而執壇角。或以此事告所羅門、所羅門遣耶何耶大子庇拿雅擊之。庇拿雅至耶和華會幕、告約押曰、王使爾出。曰、否、我必死於此、庇拿雅以約押言反告於王。王曰、可如其言而行、擊而葬之、於是約押流無辜之血、其罪不歸於我、亦不歸我父之家。彼刃擊二人、較己尤善、即以色列族軍長尼耳子押尼耳、猶大族軍長益帖子亞馬撒、我父大闢不之知也、今耶和華必以是罪歸之。此罪必永歸約押、及其苗裔、惟耶和華必賜平康於大闢眷聚、爰其苗裔、至於國家永世靡暨。耶何耶大子庇拿雅遂往擊約押、殺之、葬於私宅、地鄰曠野。王使耶何耶大子庇拿雅代約押為軍長、使祭司撒督代亞庇亞塔。

亞多尼雅與西魯雅子約押、及祭司亞庇亞塔私議、欲其相從、以為輔翼。

西魯雅有三子、名約押、亞庇篩、亞撒黑。亞撒黑足疾如麀。

約押為以色列軍長、耶何耶大之子庇拿雅統轄劊役皂隸、

大闢曰、先擊耶布士人者、可為軍長、西魯雅子約押先往、而為軍長。
