大闢諭在耶路撒冷從己之臣僕曰、盍起而遁、否則不得避押沙龍、迅速往哉、恐其倏至、加害於我、刃殲邑民。

嗣後大闢擊非利士人敗之、取米的安馬。又擊摩押、使其人伏地、以繩量度、區之為三、死亡者二、生存者一、由是摩押人服役於大闢、而進貢焉。大闢往百辣河、欲得其地、則擊鎖巴王哩合子哈大底泄、擄馬乘一千七百、步卒二萬、斷其馬筋、所存者惟駟一百。大馬色之亞蘭人至、欲助鎖巴王、哈大底泄。大闢殺之、約二萬二千。大闢遣兵戍大馬色、於是亞蘭人為大闢僕、而進貢。大闢不論所往、得耶和華祐。哈大底泄僕眾、各執金干、大闢奪之、攜至耶路撒冷、庇大庇羅太二邑、屬於哈大底泄、大闢取其銅、不可勝數。○昔哈末王陀以與哈大底泄戰、今聞大闢已擊其軍旅、則遣子約蘭攜金銀銅器、往見大闢王、慶賀而祝之。

掃羅曰、當告大闢、王不欲受聘、第欲爾斷非利士人之皮一百、以報王仇。掃羅之意欲藉非利士人手以殺大闢。

大闢為掃羅所遣、不論何適、無不亨通。掃羅擢之為武士長、掃羅臣僕與億兆皆悅焉。大闢殺非利士人而回、眾婦自以色列諸邑出、謳歌舞蹈、播鼗擊磐、歡然以迓掃羅王。眾婦踴躍、唱予和汝、曰、掃羅殺人維千、大闢戮人盈萬。

亞當曰、爾以婦賜我、與我為偶、婦予我果、而我食之。耶和華上帝謂婦曰、爾何為耶、婦曰、蛇誘我食之。

如心懷嫉狠忿戾、則勿自矜、冒稱真理、此智非由上來、乃屬斯世、血氣所激、魔鬼所迷、有媢嫉、爭鬥、則必作亂、行惡貫盈、

昔冒死不顧、殺非利士人、耶和華大援以色列族、爾見此甚喜、今何擊之、欲殺無辜。

我曰、凡有金者脫而予我、我投之火、此犢以成。

如是大闢以繩發石、擊非利士人而殺之、手不持刃。

大闢至巴勒比哩心、擊敵曰、耶和華破敵於我前、若水決而分流、故名其地曰、巴勒比哩心。
