All my grandfather’s descendants deserved nothing but death from my lord the king, but you gave your servant a place among those who eat at your table. So what right do I have to make any more appeals to the king?”

So all seven of them died together at the beginning of the barley harvest.

“ Don’t be afraid!” David said.“ I intend to show kindness to you because of my promise to your father, Jonathan. I will give you all the property that once belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will eat here with me at the king’s table!”Mephibosheth bowed respectfully and exclaimed,“ Who is your servant, that you should show such kindness to a dead dog like me?”
