他回答說：『我主我王，我的僕人哄騙了我了；因為你僕人吩咐他說：「給我豫備好了一匹驢，我好騎上，跟王一同去」；因為你僕人瘸腿；無奈他竟哄騙了我。

他回答：「我主我王啊，你僕人本來說『我要給驢子備好鞍，騎上驢子與王一同離開』，因為你僕人是瘸腿的；可是我的僕人欺騙了我！

對曰、我主我王、爾僕跛足、意欲備驢乘之、與王同行、而我僕欺我、

He said,“ My lord the king, since I your servant am lame, I said,‘ I will have my donkey saddled and will ride on it, so I can go with the king.’ But Ziba my servant betrayed me.

He said,“ You are my king and master. I’m not able to walk. So I thought,‘ I’ll have a saddle put on my donkey. I’ll ride on it. Then I can go with the king.’ But my servant Ziba turned against me.

He answered,“ My lord, O king, my servant deceived me, for your servant said to him,‘ I will saddle a donkey for myself, that I may ride on it and go with the king.’ For your servant is lame.

Mephibosheth replied,“ My lord the king, my servant Ziba deceived me. I told him,‘ Saddle my donkey so I can go with the king.’ For as you know I am crippled.

“ My lord the king,” he replied,“ my servant Ziba betrayed me. Actually your servant said,‘ I’ll saddle the donkey for myself so that I may ride it and go with the king’— for your servant is lame.

So he said,“ My lord the king, my servant betrayed me; for your servant said,‘ I will saddle the donkey for myself so that I may ride on it and go with the king,’ since your servant cannot walk.

And he answered,“ My Lord, O king, my servant deceived me. For your servant said,‘ I will saddle a donkey for myself, that I may ride on it and go to the king,’ because your servant is lame.

And he answered, My lord, O king, my servant deceived me: for thy servant said, I will saddle me an ass, that I may ride thereon, and go with the king; because thy servant is lame.

“ My lord the king,” he replied,“ my servant Ziba betrayed me. Actually your servant said:‘ I’ll saddle the donkey for myself so that I may ride it and go with the king’— for your servant is lame.

And he answered, My lord, O king, my servant deceived me: for thy servant said, I will saddle me an ass, that I may ride thereon, and go to the king; because thy servant[ is] lame.

He replied,“ My lord the king, my servant deceived me! I said,‘ Let me get my donkey saddled so that I can ride on it and go with the king,’ for I am lame.

He answered,“ My lord, O king, my servant deceived me. For your servant said,‘ I will saddle a donkey for myself, that I may ride on it and go with the king,’ because your servant is lame.

王又問：“掃羅家還有人沒有？我要以神的慈愛待他。”洗巴回答王說：“還有約拿單的一個兒子，他雙腳殘廢了。”

掃羅的兒子約拿單有一個兒子，雙腿都跛了。掃羅和約拿單死亡的消息從耶斯列傳到的時候，他才五歲。他的乳母抱著他逃跑。乳母在慌忙中逃跑，孩子掉了下來，腿就瘸了。他的名字叫米非波設。

王問洗巴：“你為甚麼帶這些東西來？”洗巴回答：“驢子是給王的家眷騎的，餅和夏天的果餅是給年輕人吃的，酒是給在曠野裡疲乏的人喝的。”王又問：“你主人的孫子米非波設在哪裡？”洗巴回答王說：“唉！他還留在耶路撒冷，因為他心裡想：‘今日以色列家會把我祖父掃羅的王國歸還給我。’”
