Mephibosheth, Saul’s grandson, also went down to meet the king. He had not taken care of his feet or trimmed his mustache or washed his clothes from the day the king left until the day he returned safely.

要與快樂的人一同快樂；與哀哭的人一同哀哭。

大衛沿著橄欖山的斜坡上去，一邊走一邊哭。他蒙著頭，赤著腳行走。隨同他的全體民眾也都各自蒙著頭上去，一邊走一邊哭。

王問：「你主人的兒子在哪裡？」洗巴回答王：「看哪，他留在耶路撒冷，因為他說：『今天以色列家必將我父的王權歸還我。』」

摩押人上神廟、迪本人上高所去哭泣；摩押人為尼波和米底巴哀號；各人頭上光禿，鬍鬚剃盡。

你們要顧念那些被囚禁的人，好像與他們一同被囚禁；要記念那些受虐待的人，好像你們自己也是在肉體中受虐待。

「你們禁食的時候，不要像偽善的人那樣愁眉苦臉。他們裝出難看的樣子，好讓人看出他們在禁食。我確實地告訴你們：他們已經得到了他們的報償。
