Mephibosheth, Saul’s grandson, also went down to meet the king. He had not taken care of his feet or trimmed his mustache or washed his clothes from the day the king left until the day he returned safely.

扫罗的孙子，约拿单的儿子米非波设来到大卫面前，俯伏叩拜。大卫说：“米非波设！”他回答：“仆人在这里。”大卫对他说：“你不要怕，我必因你父亲约拿单的缘故，以慈爱待你，把你祖父扫罗所有的田地都归还给你；你也可以常常与我同席吃饭。”米非波设再叩拜说：“仆人算什么？你竟然眷顾我这个像条死狗的人！”王把扫罗的仆人洗巴召来，对他说：“我已经把属于扫罗，以及他全家所有的一切，给了你主人的孙子。你和你的儿子，以及你的仆人，都要替他耕种田地；你要把所收获的拿来，供他食用。你主人的孙子米非波设要常常与我同席吃饭。”洗巴有十五个儿子，二十个仆人。

有八十个人从示剑、示罗和撒玛利亚前来，胡须剃去，衣服撕裂，身体割破，手里拿着素祭和乳香，要带到耶和华的殿里去。

要与喜乐的人一同喜乐，与哀哭的人一同哀哭。

大卫走上橄榄山；他蒙着头，赤着脚，一边上，一边哭，所有与他在一起的人民也都蒙着头，一边上，一边哭。

王又问：“你主人的孙子米非波设在哪里？”洗巴回答王说：“唉！他还留在耶路撒冷，因为他心里想：‘今日以色列家会把我祖父扫罗的王国归还给我。’”

他们进入房子（“房子”或译：“庙宇”），又往底本，上到高处去哭泣，摩押人为尼波和米底巴哀号；各人头上都光秃，胡须剃净。

你们要记念那些被囚禁的人，好像跟他们一起被囚禁；也要记念那些受虐待的人，好像你们也亲自受过。

“你们禁食的时候，不可像伪君子那样愁眉苦脸，他们装成难看的样子，叫人看出他们在禁食。我实在告诉你们，他们已经得了他们的赏赐。
