So the king said to Shimei,“ You shall not die.” The king also swore to him.

So the king said to Shimei,“ You shall not die.” And the king promised him on oath.

So the king made a promise to Shimei. He said to him,“ You aren’t going to be put to death.”

And the king said to Shimei,“ You shall not die.” And the king gave him his oath.

Then, turning to Shimei, David vowed,“ Your life will be spared.”

So the king said to Shimei,“ You will not die.” Then the king gave him his oath.

Therefore the king said to Shimei,“ You shall not die.” And the king swore to him.

And the king said unto Shimei, Thou shalt not die. And the king sware unto him.

So the king said to Shimei,“ You will not die.” Then the king gave him his oath.

The king said to Shimei,“ You won’t die.” The king vowed an oath concerning this.

So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and he went out and struck him so that he died. And the kingdom was established in the hands of Solomon.

For on the day you leave and cross the brook Kidron, you will know for certain that you will assuredly die; your blood will be on your own head.”

And behold, you have with you Shimei the son of Gera the Benjaminite, of Bahurim; now it was he who cursed me with a painful curse on the day I went to Mahanaim. But when he came down to meet me at the Jordan, I swore to him by the Lord, saying,‘ I will not put you to death with the sword.’But now do not leave him unpunished, for you are a wise man; and you will know what to do to him, and you will bring his gray hair down to Sheol with blood.”

Then David said to him,“ Will you bring me down to this band of raiders?” And he said,“ Swear to me by God that you will not kill me or hand me over to my master, and I will bring you down to this band.”

So Saul swore an oath to her by the Lord, saying,“ As the Lord lives, no punishment shall come upon you for this thing.”

For people swear an oath by one greater than themselves, and with them an oath serving as confirmation is an end of every dispute.
