The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept. As he went, he said:“ O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! If only I had died instead of you— O Absalom, my son, my son!”

The king was very upset. He went up to the room over the entrance of the gate and wept. As he went, he said,“ My son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! I wish I had died instead of you. Absalom! My son, my son!”

And the king was deeply moved and went up to the chamber over the gate and wept. And as he went, he said,“ O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! Would I had died instead of you, O Absalom, my son, my son!”

The king was overcome with emotion. He went up to the room over the gateway and burst into tears. And as he went, he cried,“ O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! If only I had died instead of you! O Absalom, my son, my son.”

The king was deeply moved and went up to the chamber above the city gate and wept. As he walked, he cried,“ My son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! If only I had died instead of you, Absalom, my son, my son!”

Then the king trembled and went up to the chamber over the gate and wept. And this is what he said as he walked:“ My son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! If only I had died instead of you, Absalom, my son, my son!”

Then the king was deeply moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept. And as he went, he said thus:“ O my son Absalom— my son, my son Absalom— if only I had died in your place! O Absalom my son, my son!”

( 19: 1) The king then became very upset. He went up to the upper room over the gate and wept. As he went he said,“ My son, Absalom! My son, my son, Absalom! If only I could have died in your place! Absalom, my son, my son!”

The king was much moved, and went up to the room over the gate, and wept. As he went, he said,“ My son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! I wish I had died for you, Absalom, my son, my son!”

所罗门的箴言：智慧之子使父亲喜乐；愚昧之子使母亲担忧。

愚昧的儿子使父亲愁烦，使那生他的母亲忧苦。

现在，求你赦免他们的罪；不然，就把我从你所写的册上除名。”

父亲怎样怜悯他的儿女，耶和华也怎样怜悯敬畏他的人！

现在刀剑必永不离开你的家，因你藐视我，娶了赫人乌利亚的妻子为妻。’耶和华如此说：‘看哪，我必从你家中兴起灾祸攻击你；我必在你眼前把你的妃嫔赐给你身边的人，他要在光天化日下与你的妃嫔同寝。你在暗中做那事，我却要在以色列众人面前，在日光之下做这事。’”大卫对拿单说：“我得罪耶和华了！”拿单说：“耶和华已经除去你的罪，你必不至于死。只是在这事上，你大大藐视耶和华，因此，你生的孩子必定要死。”拿单就回家去了。耶和华击打乌利亚的妻子为大卫生的孩子，他就得了重病。大卫为这孩子恳求上帝。大卫刻苦禁食，到里面去，躺在地上过夜。他家中的老臣来到他旁边，要把他从地上扶起来，他却不肯，也不同他们吃饭。到第七日，孩子死了。大卫的臣仆不敢告诉他孩子死了，因他们说：“看哪，孩子还活着的时候，我们劝他，他尚且不听我们的话，我们怎么能告诉他孩子死了，让他做出不好的事呢？”大卫见臣仆彼此低声说话，就知道孩子死了。他问臣仆说：“孩子死了吗？”他们说：“死了。”大卫就从地上起来，沐浴，抹膏，换了衣服，进耶和华的殿敬拜。然后他回宫，吩咐人为他摆饭，他就吃了。臣仆对他说：“你所做的是什么事呢？孩子活着的时候，你为他禁食哭泣；孩子死了，你却起来吃饭。”大卫说：“孩子还活着，我禁食哭泣，因为我想，或许耶和华怜悯我，会让孩子活下来。现在孩子死了，我何必禁食呢？我能使他回来吗？我必往他那里去，他却不能回到我这里来。”

为我弟兄，我骨肉之亲，就是自己被诅咒，与基督分离，我也愿意。

以利亚与我们是同样性情的人，他恳切地祈求不要下雨，地上就三年六个月没有下雨。
