Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning; and Samuel was told, saying,“ Saul came to Carmel, and behold, he set up a monument for himself, and turned, and passed on, and went down to Gilgal.”

The king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, at the valley of Shaveh( that is, the King’s Valley).

Three sons were born to Absalom, and one daughter, whose name was Tamar. She was a woman with a beautiful face.

The king spoke and said,“ Is not this great Babylon, which I have built for the royal dwelling place, by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?”

They said,“ Come, let’s build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top reaches to the sky, and let’s make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad on the surface of the whole earth.”

Let his posterity be cut off. In the generation following let their name be blotted out.

Therefore its name was called Babel, because there Yahweh confused the language of all the earth. From there, Yahweh scattered them abroad on the surface of all the earth.

Their inward thought is that their houses will endure forever, and their dwelling places to all generations. They name their lands after themselves.

Now this man obtained a field with the reward for his wickedness, and falling headlong, his body burst open, and all his intestines gushed out.It became known to everyone who lived in Jerusalem that in their language that field was called‘ Akeldama,’ that is,‘ The field of blood.’

His roots will be dried up beneath. His branch will be cut off above.His memory will perish from the earth. He will have no name in the street.

Yahweh says,“ Record this man as childless, a man who will not prosper in his days; for no more will a man of his offspring prosper, sitting on David’s throne, and ruling in Judah.”
