Early the next morning Samuel went to find Saul. Someone told him,“ Saul went to the town of Carmel to set up a monument to himself; then he went on to Gilgal.”

After Abram returned from his victory over Kedorlaomer and all his allies, the king of Sodom went out to meet him in the valley of Shaveh( that is, the King’s Valley).

He had three sons and one daughter. His daughter’s name was Tamar, and she was very beautiful.

As he looked out across the city, he said,‘ Look at this great city of Babylon! By my own mighty power, I have built this beautiful city as my royal residence to display my majestic splendor.’

Then they said,“ Come, let’s build a great city for ourselves with a tower that reaches into the sky. This will make us famous and keep us from being scattered all over the world.”

May all his offspring die. May his family name be blotted out in the next generation.

That is why the city was called Babel, because that is where the Lord confused the people with different languages. In this way he scattered them all over the world.

The grave is their eternal home, where they will stay forever. They may name their estates after themselves,

( Judas had bought a field with the money he received for his treachery. Falling headfirst there, his body split open, spilling out all his intestines.The news of his death spread to all the people of Jerusalem, and they gave the place the Aramaic name Akeldama, which means“ Field of Blood.”)

Their roots will dry up, and their branches will wither.All memory of their existence will fade from the earth; no one will remember their names.

This is what the Lord says:‘ Let the record show that this man Jehoiachin was childless. He is a failure, for none of his children will succeed him on the throne of David to rule over Judah.’
