During his lifetime Absalom had taken a pillar and erected it in the King’s Valley as a monument to himself, for he thought,“ I have no son to carry on the memory of my name.” He named the pillar after himself, and it is called Absalom’s Monument to this day.

撒母耳清早起來去見掃羅，有人告訴撒母耳說：「掃羅去了迦密，看哪，他為自己豎立了一座紀念碑，然後轉身下到吉甲去了。」

亞伯蘭擊敗基大勞瑪及其同盟的王回來之後，所多瑪王就出來，在沙微谷迎接他；沙微谷就是帝王谷。

押沙龍生了三個兒子、一個女兒，女兒名叫塔瑪爾，是個容貌俊美的女子。

開口說：「這大巴比倫，難道不是我以自己的權能力量建為國都，為要顯出我威嚴的尊榮嗎？」

他們又說：「來吧！讓我們為自己建造一座城和一座塔，塔頂通天，好為自己立名，免得我們分散在整個地面上。」

願他的後代被剪除，他們的名號在下一代被抹掉。

因此那城名叫巴別，因為在那裡耶和華變亂了全地人的語言，又從那裡把他們分散到整個地面上。

他們以為自己的家必存到永遠，他們的住所必存到萬代；他們用自己的名字給土地命名。

後來，竟然用這個人不義的酬報買了一塊地。猶大一頭栽倒在那裡，肚腹迸裂，腸子都流出來了。所有住在耶路撒冷的人都知道了這件事，因此那塊地按著他們的本地語言被稱為「哈克達瑪」——這意思是「血田」。
