During his lifetime Absalom had taken a pillar and erected it in the King’s Valley as a monument to himself, for he thought,“ I have no son to carry on the memory of my name.” He named the pillar after himself, and it is called Absalom’s Monument to this day.

Earlier in his life Absalom had set up a pillar in the King’s Valley. He had put it up as a monument to himself. He thought,“ I don’t have a son to carry on the memory of my name.” So he named the pillar after himself. It is still called Absalom’s Monument to this day.

Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and set up for himself the pillar that is in the King’s Valley, for he said,“ I have no son to keep my name in remembrance.” He called the pillar after his own name, and it is called Absalom’s monument to this day.

说：“这宏伟的巴比伦岂不是我用大能建立为京都，以显我的威严和荣耀吗？”

说：“来吧，让我们造一座城和一座高耸入云的塔，这样我们可以扬名天下，不致分散在地上。”

愿他断子绝孙，他的姓氏传不到下一代。

因此，人称那城为巴别，因为耶和华在那里变乱了人类的语言，把他们分散到世界各地。

尽管他们用自己的名字来为产业命名，坟墓却是他们永远的归宿，世代的住处。

犹大用作恶得来的钱买了一块田，他头朝下栽倒在那里，肚破肠流。这消息很快传遍了耶路撒冷，当地人称那块田为“亚革大马”，就是“血田”的意思。

他下面的根茎枯干，上面的枝子枯萎。他从世上销声匿迹，无人记得他的名字。

耶和华说：“你要把这人作为无儿无女、一生失败的人记录下来，因为他的后裔中无一人能成功地继承大卫的宝座，统治犹大。”
