But the man said to Joab,“ Even if I were to receive a thousand pieces of silver in my hand, I would not put out my hand against the king’s son; for in our hearing the king commanded you, Abishai, and Ittai, saying,‘ Protect the young man Absalom for me!’

那人对约押说：“我就是得你一千舍客勒银子，我也不敢伸手害王的儿子；因为我们听见王嘱咐你和亚比筛并以太说：‘你们要谨慎，不可害那少年人押沙龙。’

那人对约押说：“即使我手里得了一千银子，也不敢伸手害王的儿子，因为我们听见王嘱咐你、亚比筛、以太说：‘你们要谨慎，不可害那年轻人押沙龙。’

那人对约押说：“即使我手里得了一千银子，也不敢伸手害王的儿子，因为我们听见王嘱咐你、亚比筛、以太说：‘你们要谨慎，不可害那年轻人押沙龙。’

他却答道：“就是你赏我一千块银子，我也不敢加害王的儿子啊！我们曾听见王吩咐你、亚比筛和以太不可伤害年轻的押沙龙。

那人回答约押：“就是量十一公斤银子放在我手中，我也不敢伸手伤害王的儿子，因为我们亲耳听见王吩咐你、亚比筛和以太说：‘你们要为我的缘故，照顾那年轻人押沙龙。’

那人對約押說：「我就是得你一千舍客勒銀子，我也不敢伸手害王的兒子；因為我們聽見王囑咐你和亞比篩並以太說：『你們要謹慎，不可害那少年人押沙龍。』

那人對約押說：「即使我手裏得了一千銀子，也不敢伸手害王的兒子，因為我們聽見王囑咐你、亞比篩、以太說：『你們要謹慎，不可害那年輕人押沙龍。』

那人對約押說：「即使我手裏得了一千銀子，也不敢伸手害王的兒子，因為我們聽見王囑咐你、亞比篩、以太說：『你們要謹慎，不可害那年輕人押沙龍。』

他卻答道：「就是你賞我一千塊銀子，我也不敢加害王的兒子啊！我們曾聽見王吩咐你、亞比篩和以太不可傷害年輕的押沙龍。

那人回答約押：“就是量十一公斤銀子放在我手中，我也不敢伸手傷害王的兒子，因為我們親耳聽見王吩咐你、亞比篩和以太說：‘你們要為我的緣故，照顧那年輕人押沙龍。’

那人對約押說：『我，我就使平得一千錠銀子在手，也不敢伸手加害王的兒子呀；因為我們親耳聽見王吩咐你和亞比篩跟乙太說：「你們要為我的緣故小心顧到孩子押沙龍。」

那人對約押說：「即使稱量一千謝克爾銀子放在我手中，我也不會對王的兒子下手，因為我們聽見王囑咐你和亞比篩、伊太，說：『為我的緣故，不要傷害那年輕人押沙龍。』

曰、雖獲千金、我不伸手擊王之子、我儕聞王囑爾、與亞比篩以太曰、慎勿加害少者押沙龍、

或曰、雖得千金、我不敢擊王子、我聞王囑爾及亞庇篩以太曰、少者押沙龍慎勿加害。

其人對約押曰、雖得銀一千舍客勒、亦不敢舉手擊王子、我聞王囑爾與亞比篩及以太曰、慎勿害少者押沙龍、

But the man replied,“ Even if a thousand shekels were weighed out into my hands, I would not lay a hand on the king’s son. In our hearing the king commanded you and Abishai and Ittai,‘ Protect the young man Absalom for my sake.’

But the man replied,“ I wouldn’t do anything to hurt the king’s son. I wouldn’t do it even for 25 pounds of silver. We heard the king’s command to you and Abishai and Ittai. He said,‘ Be careful not to hurt the young man Absalom. Do it for me.’

But the man said to Joab,“ Even if I felt in my hand the weight of a thousand pieces of silver, I would not reach out my hand against the king’s son, for in our hearing the king commanded you and Abishai and Ittai,‘ For my sake protect the young man Absalom.’

“ I would not kill the king’s son for even a thousand pieces of silver,” the man replied to Joab.“ We all heard the king say to you and Abishai and Ittai,‘ For my sake, please spare young Absalom.’

The man replied to Joab,“ Even if I had the weight of a thousand pieces of silver in my hand, I would not raise my hand against the king’s son. For we heard the king command you, Abishai, and Ittai,‘ Protect the young man Absalom for me.’

But the man said to Joab,“ Though I were to receive a thousand shekels of silver in my hand, I would not raise my hand against the king’s son. For in our hearing the king commanded you and Abishai and Ittai, saying,‘ Beware lest anyone touch the young man Absalom!’

And the man said unto Joab, Though I should receive a thousand pieces of silver in my hand, yet would I not put forth my hand against the king’s son: for in our hearing the king charged thee and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Beware that none touch the young man Absalom.

The man replied to Joab,“ Even if I had the weight of 1,000 pieces of silver in my hand, I would not raise my hand against the king’s son. For we heard the king command you, Abishai, and Ittai,‘ Protect the young man Absalom for me.’

And the man said unto Joab, Though I should receive a thousand[ shekels] of silver in mine hand,[ yet] would I not put forth mine hand against the king’s son: for in our hearing the king charged thee and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Beware that none[ touch] the young man Absalom.

The man replied to Joab,“ Even if I were receiving a thousand pieces of silver, I would not strike the king’s son! In our very presence the king gave this order to you and Abishai and Ittai,‘ Protect the young man Absalom for my sake.’

The man said to Joab,“ Though I should receive a thousand pieces of silver in my hand, I still wouldn’t stretch out my hand against the king’s son; for in our hearing the king commanded you and Abishai and Ittai, saying,‘ Beware that no one touch the young man Absalom.’

But the king commanded Joab, Abishai, and Ittai, saying,“ Deal gently with the young man Absalom for my sake.” And all the people heard when the king commanded all the commanders regarding Absalom.
