“ Quick!” he told them.“ Find David and urge him not to stay at the shallows of the Jordan River tonight. He must go across at once into the wilderness beyond. Otherwise he will die and his entire army with him.”

他又說：「現在，你們要迅速派人去告訴大衛：今夜不要在曠野的渡口過夜，一定要過河，免得王和所有隨同他的人都被吞滅。」

宜急遣人告大衛曰、今夜勿宿曠野之津、必濟河、免王與侍從、俱見吞噬、

令其遣使、速告大闢、曰、今夕勿居於野之平原、必速濟河、恐王與侍從、俱見並吞。

今爾速遣人告大衛曰、今夕勿居曠野之平原、當速濟河、恐王與從者遘禍、遘禍或作俱被翦滅

Now send a message at once and tell David,‘ Do not spend the night at the fords in the wilderness; cross over without fail, or the king and all the people with him will be swallowed up.’”

Send a message right away. Tell David,‘ Don’t spend the night in the desert at a place where people cross the Jordan River. Make sure you go on across. If you don’t, you and all the people with you will be swallowed up.’ ”

Now therefore send quickly and tell David,‘ Do not stay tonight at the fords of the wilderness, but by all means pass over, lest the king and all the people who are with him be swallowed up.’”

Now send someone quickly and tell David,‘ Don’t spend the night at the wilderness ford, but be sure to cross over the Jordan, or the king and all the people with him will be devoured.’”

Now then, send a messenger quickly and tell David, saying,‘ Do not spend the night at the river crossing places of the wilderness, but by all means cross over, or else the king and all the people who are with him will be destroyed.’ ”

Now therefore, send quickly and tell David, saying,‘ Do not spend this night in the plains of the wilderness, but speedily cross over, lest the king and all the people who are with him be swallowed up.’”

Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying, Lodge not this night at the fords of the wilderness, but by all means pass over; lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people that are with him.

Now send someone quickly and tell David,‘ Don’t spend the night at the wilderness ford of the Jordan, but be sure to cross over, or the king and all the people with him will be destroyed.’”

Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying, Lodge not this night in the plains of the wilderness, but speedily pass over; lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people that[ are] with him.

Now send word quickly to David and warn him,“ Don’t spend the night at the fords of the desert tonight. Instead, be sure you cross over, or else the king and everyone who is with him may be overwhelmed.”

Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying,‘ Don’t lodge tonight at the fords of the wilderness, but by all means pass over; lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people who are with him.’”

I will stop at the shallows of the Jordan River and wait there for a report from you.”

While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life.

Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled:“ Death is swallowed up in victory.

I am constantly hounded by those who slander me, and many are boldly attacking me.

“ Then we must flee at once, or it will be too late!” David urged his men.“ Hurry! If we get out of the city before Absalom arrives, both we and the city of Jerusalem will be spared from disaster.”

He will send help from heaven to rescue me, disgracing those who hound me. Interlude My God will send forth his unfailing love and faithfulness.

Hurry, hurry, don’t wait.” So the boy quickly gathered up the arrows and ran back to his master.

How quickly I would escape— far from this wild storm of hatred.

Don’t put it off; do it now! Don’t rest until you do.Save yourself like a gazelle escaping from a hunter, like a bird fleeing from a net.

“ Then those in Judea must flee to the hills.A person out on the deck of a roof must not go down into the house to pack.A person out in the field must not return even to get a coat.

I am one who is peace loving and faithful in Israel. But you are destroying an important town in Israel. Why do you want to devour what belongs to the Lord?”And Joab replied,“ Believe me, I don’t want to devour or destroy your town!

Don’t let them say,“ Look, we got what we wanted! Now we will eat him alive!”

Then the two men crawled out of the well and hurried on to King David.“ Quick!” they told him,“ cross the Jordan tonight!” And they told him how Ahithophel had advised that he be captured and killed.So David and all the people with him went across the Jordan River during the night, and they were all on the other bank before dawn.
