Now therefore, send quickly and tell David, saying,‘ Do not spend this night in the plains of the wilderness, but speedily cross over, lest the king and all the people who are with him be swallowed up.’”

宜急遣人告大衛曰、今夜勿宿曠野之津、必濟河、免王與侍從、俱見吞噬、

令其遣使、速告大闢、曰、今夕勿居於野之平原、必速濟河、恐王與侍從、俱見並吞。

今爾速遣人告大衛曰、今夕勿居曠野之平原、當速濟河、恐王與從者遘禍、遘禍或作俱被翦滅

Now send a message at once and tell David,‘ Do not spend the night at the fords in the wilderness; cross over without fail, or the king and all the people with him will be swallowed up.’”

Send a message right away. Tell David,‘ Don’t spend the night in the desert at a place where people cross the Jordan River. Make sure you go on across. If you don’t, you and all the people with you will be swallowed up.’ ”

Now therefore send quickly and tell David,‘ Do not stay tonight at the fords of the wilderness, but by all means pass over, lest the king and all the people who are with him be swallowed up.’”

“ Quick!” he told them.“ Find David and urge him not to stay at the shallows of the Jordan River tonight. He must go across at once into the wilderness beyond. Otherwise he will die and his entire army with him.”

Now send someone quickly and tell David,‘ Don’t spend the night at the wilderness ford, but be sure to cross over the Jordan, or the king and all the people with him will be devoured.’”

Now then, send a messenger quickly and tell David, saying,‘ Do not spend the night at the river crossing places of the wilderness, but by all means cross over, or else the king and all the people who are with him will be destroyed.’ ”

Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying, Lodge not this night at the fords of the wilderness, but by all means pass over; lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people that are with him.

Now send word quickly to David and warn him,“ Don’t spend the night at the fords of the desert tonight. Instead, be sure you cross over, or else the king and everyone who is with him may be overwhelmed.”

Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying,‘ Don’t lodge tonight at the fords of the wilderness, but by all means pass over; lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people who are with him.’”

See, I will wait in the plains of the wilderness until word comes from you to inform me.”

For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life.

So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written:“ Death is swallowed up in victory.”

My enemies would hound me all day, For there are many who fight against me, O Most High.

So David said to all his servants who were with him at Jerusalem,“ Arise, and let us flee, or we shall not escape from Absalom. Make haste to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly and bring disaster upon us, and strike the city with the edge of the sword.”

He shall send from heaven and save me; He reproaches the one who would swallow me up. Selah God shall send forth His mercy and His truth.

And Jonathan cried out after the lad,“ Make haste, hurry, do not delay!” So Jonathan’s lad gathered up the arrows and came back to his master.

I would hasten my escape From the windy storm and tempest.”

Give no sleep to your eyes, Nor slumber to your eyelids.Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, And like a bird from the hand of the fowler.

“ then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house.And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.

I am among the peaceable and faithful in Israel. You seek to destroy a city and a mother in Israel. Why would you swallow up the inheritance of the Lord?”And Joab answered and said,“ Far be it, far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy!

Let them not say in their hearts,“ Ah, so we would have it!” Let them not say,“ We have swallowed him up.”

Now it came to pass, after they had departed, that they came up out of the well and went and told King David, and said to David,“ Arise and cross over the water quickly. For thus has Ahithophel advised against you.”So David and all the people who were with him arose and crossed over the Jordan. By morning light not one of them was left who had not gone over the Jordan.
