“ So I advise you: Let all Israel, from Dan to Beersheba— as numerous as the sand on the seashore— be gathered to you, with you yourself leading them into battle.

“ So here’s what I suggest. Bring together all the men of Israel from the town of Dan all the way to Beersheba. They are as many as the grains of sand on the seashore. You yourself should lead them into battle.

大卫对跟随他的约押元帅说：“你来回走遍以色列众支派，从但直到别是巴，数点百姓，我好知道百姓的数目。”

他掘了坑，挖得太深，竟掉在自己所挖的陷阱里。他的毒害必回到自己头上，他的残暴必落到自己的脑袋上。

便‧哈达又派人到亚哈那里，说：“撒玛利亚的尘土若足够跟从我的军兵每人手拿一把，愿神明重重惩罚我！”

耶和华已将自己显明，他已施行审判；恶人被自己手所做的缠住了。（细拉）

我要使你的后裔好像地上的尘沙，人若能数地上的尘沙，才能数你的后裔。
