As King David approached Bahurim, a man from the same clan as Saul’s family came out from there. His name was Shimei son of Gera, and he cursed as he came out.

King David approached Bahurim. As he did, a man came out toward him. The man was from the same family group that Saul was from. His name was Shimei. He was the son of Gera. As he came out of the town, he cursed David.

When King David came to Bahurim, there came out a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera, and as he came he cursed continually.

As King David came to Bahurim, a man came out of the village cursing them. It was Shimei son of Gera, from the same clan as Saul’s family.

When King David got to Bahurim, a man belonging to the family of the house of Saul was just coming out. His name was Shimei son of Gera, and he was yelling curses as he approached.

When King David came to Bahurim, behold, a man was coming out from there from the family of the house of Saul, and his name was Shimei, the son of Gera; he was coming out, cursing as he came.

When King David got to Bahurim, a man belonging to the family of the house of Saul was just coming out. His name was Shimei son of Gera, and he was yelling curses as he approached.

And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, thence came out a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name[ was] Shimei, the son of Gera: he came forth, and cursed still as he came.

Then King David reached Bahurim. There a man from Saul’s extended family named Shimei son of Gera came out, yelling curses as he approached.

夫隨其後而哭、至巴戶林。押尼耳曰、汝盍歸。乃歸。

我往馬哈念時、巴戶林地便雅憫族其喇子示每詛我以厲詞、逮我歸約但之時、彼來晉接、故我指耶和華而誓、必不戮之以刃。惟爾有智、知所當為、必視示每若負罪戾、使其皓然白首、流血歸墓。

勿詛士師、勿詈民長。

有孺子見之、告押沙龍、二人速往、至巴戶林人家、其院有井、二人下焉。

王召示每、諭之曰、爾當建室於耶路撒冷、杜門勿出。如爾出而濟汲淪溪、當日必死、死則罪歸乎爾。示每曰、斯言甚善、我主我王所命、臣必遵行。示每恆居耶路撒冷、越三年、示每二僕遁於迦特王馬迦子亞吉所、或告示每曰、爾僕在迦特。示每備驢啟行、往迦特見亞吉、索取其僕、攜之而歸。或以示每所為、告於所羅門。王召之曰、我曾使爾指耶和華而發誓、又戒爾云、如爾出外遨遊、當日必死。爾對曰、所言甚善、是事非有之乎。何爾不守所誓、不遵我命乎。又曰、昔爾以惡待我父大闢、爾心所知、今耶和華必因是惡而報施焉。惟王必蒙祝嘏、大闢之國祚、在耶和華前、必恆久弗替。王命耶何耶大子庇拿雅出擊之、以斃其命、於是國祚以定、歸於所羅門。

謂大闢曰、汝執杖來迎、以我為犬乎。遂指厥上帝、而咒詛大闢。

巴戶林地、便雅憫族、其喇子示每、與猶大人偕、迓大闢王、其至甚速。便雅憫族人一千咸從之至、亦與掃羅家僕西巴、及其子十五人、僕二十人、偕濟約但、為王前驅。有人備筏、濟王眷聚、以及什物、王既濟河、其喇子示每俯伏王前。曰、我主毋咎我、昔我主我王離耶路撒冷時、臣僕所行背逆之事、王毋繫念於懷。我知有罪、故今日在約瑟族中、我至獨先、以迓我主我王。西魯雅子亞庇篩曰、耶和華沐以膏者、示每詛之、其罪詎不當死。大闢曰、西魯雅二子、我與爾何與、爾敵我於以色列族中、我今日復為以色列族王、奚可遽行殺戮。王告示每曰、汝必不死、加以誓言。

經歷斯土、飢饉困憊、既己枵腹之堪嗟、自必中心之發憤、詛咒君王、謗讟上帝、顧瞻上下、無非幽暗患難、昏黑杳冥之域矣。

任人咒詛、望主錫福、使彼愧恥、僕以欣喜兮、

王與侍從困憊、養其精力。

毋私詛王公、毋在室咒大人、飛鳥必揚其聲、羽族必報其事。

徒以言語咒詛者、必不降災、猶燕雀翱翔而不加害。

維彼惡人、素不矜恤、匱乏難堪者、彼追襲之、中心痛悔者、彼殺害之兮、彼惟詛人是喜、願彼亦服咒詛兮、彼不為人祝福、願福祉不及其躬兮、彼尤人必以咒詛、猶文身必以衣服、願彼咒詛、猶水入其腎腸、如油淪其骨髓兮、願彼咒詛、蒙之若衣、束之若紳兮、

爾鞭予、彼加傷害、爾扑予、彼興謠諑兮、

為我而受人詬誶窘逐、惡言誹謗者福矣、當欣喜歡樂、以在天爾得賞者大也、蓋人窘逐先知、自昔然矣、○
