Then the king asked,“ Where is your master’s grandson Mephibosheth?” Ziba said to him,“ He’s staying in Jerusalem. He thinks,‘ Today the Israelites will cause me to rule once again over my grandfather Saul’s kingdom.’ ”

王问说：“你主人的儿子在哪里呢？”洗巴回答王说：“他仍在耶路撒冷，因他说：‘以色列人今日必将我父的国归还我。’”

王说：“你主人的儿子在哪里呢？”洗巴对王说：“看哪，他留在耶路撒冷，因他说：‘以色列家今日必将我父的国归还我。’”

王说：“你主人的儿子在哪里呢？”洗巴对王说：“看哪，他留在耶路撒冷，因他说：‘以色列家今日必将我父的国归还我。’”

王又问他：“你主人的孙子米非波设在哪里？”洗巴说：“他在耶路撒冷，因为他相信现在以色列人会把他祖父的国归还给他。”

王又问：“你主人的孙子米非波设在哪里？”洗巴回答王说：“唉！他还留在耶路撒冷，因为他心里想：‘今日以色列家会把我祖父扫罗的王国归还给我。’”

王問說：「你主人的兒子在哪裏呢？」洗巴回答王說：「他仍在耶路撒冷，因他說：『以色列人今日必將我父的國歸還我。』」

王說：「你主人的兒子在哪裏呢？」洗巴對王說：「看哪，他留在耶路撒冷，因他說：『以色列家今日必將我父的國歸還我。』」

王說：「你主人的兒子在哪裏呢？」洗巴對王說：「看哪，他留在耶路撒冷，因他說：『以色列家今日必將我父的國歸還我。』」

王又問他：「你主人的孫子米非波設在哪裡？」洗巴說：「他在耶路撒冷，因為他相信現在以色列人會把他祖父的國歸還給他。」

王又問：“你主人的孫子米非波設在哪裡？”洗巴回答王說：“唉！他還留在耶路撒冷，因為他心裡想：‘今日以色列家會把我祖父掃羅的王國歸還給我。’”

王問說：『你主人的兒子在哪裏？』洗巴對王說：『你看，他還在耶路撒冷；因為他心裏說：「以色列家今日必將我父的國歸還給我。」』

王問：「你主人的兒子在哪裡？」洗巴回答王：「看哪，他留在耶路撒冷，因為他說：『今天以色列家必將我父的王權歸還我。』」

王曰、爾主之子安在、曰、在耶路撒冷、蓋曰、今日以色列家、必以父之國反我、

王曰、爾主之孫何在。曰、在耶路撒冷、彼曰、今日以色列族、必以祖之國祚、仍歸乎我。

王曰、爾主人子安在、洗巴對王曰、今居耶路撒冷、彼曰、今日以色列人、必以我父之國反我、

The king then asked,“ Where is your master’s grandson?” Ziba said to him,“ He is staying in Jerusalem, because he thinks,‘ Today the Israelites will restore to me my grandfather’s kingdom.’”

And the king said,“ And where is your master’s son?” Ziba said to the king,“ Behold, he remains in Jerusalem, for he said,‘ Today the house of Israel will give me back the kingdom of my father.’”

“ And where is Mephibosheth, Saul’s grandson?” the king asked him.“ He stayed in Jerusalem,” Ziba replied.“ He said,‘ Today I will get back the kingdom of my grandfather Saul.’”

“ Where is your master’s grandson?” the king asked.“ Why, he’s staying in Jerusalem,” Ziba replied to the king,“ for he said,‘ Today, the house of Israel will restore my grandfather’s kingdom to me.’”

Then the king said,“ And where is your master’s son?” And Ziba said to the king,“ Behold, he is staying in Jerusalem, for he said,‘ Today the house of Israel will restore the kingdom of my father to me.’ ”

Then the king said,“ And where is your master’s son?” And Ziba said to the king,“ Indeed he is staying in Jerusalem, for he said,‘ Today the house of Israel will restore the kingdom of my father to me.’”

And the king said, And where is thy master’s son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem; for he said, To- day will the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.

“ Where is your master’s grandson?” the king asked.“ Why, he’s staying in Jerusalem,” Ziba replied to the king,“ for he said,‘ Today, the house of Israel will restore my grandfather’s kingdom to me.’”

And the king said, And where[ is] thy master’s son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem: for he said, To day shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.

The king asked,“ Where is your master’s grandson?” Ziba replied to the king,“ He remains in Jerusalem, for he said,‘ Today the house of Israel will give back to me my grandfather’s kingdom.’”

The king said,“ Where is your master’s son?” Ziba said to the king,“ Behold, he is staying in Jerusalem; for he said,‘ Today the house of Israel will restore me the kingdom of my father.’”

Then the king sent for Saul’s servant Ziba. He said to him,“ I’m giving your master’s grandson everything that belonged to Saul and his family.You and your sons and your servants must farm the land for him. You must bring in the crops. Then he’ll be taken care of. I’ll always provide what he needs.” Ziba had 15 sons and 20 servants.

You have taken my friends and neighbors away from me. Darkness is my closest friend.

I will get rid of anyone who tells lies about their neighbor in secret. I won’t put up with anyone whose eyes and heart are proud.

They don’t tell lies about other people. They don’t do wrong to their neighbors. They don’t say anything bad about them.

“ Do not be a false witness against your neighbor.

The judges must check out the matter carefully. And suppose the witness is proved to be lying. Then he has said something false in court against another Israelite.So do to the lying witness what he tried to do to the other person. Get rid of that evil witness.

Witnesses who aren’t honest will die. But anyone who listens carefully will be a successful witness.

How terrible it will be for them! They have followed the way of Cain. They have rushed into the same mistake Balaam made. They did it because they loved money. They are like Korah. He turned against his leaders. These people will certainly be destroyed, just as Korah was.

People who want to get rich are tempted. They fall into a trap. They are tripped up by wanting many foolish and harmful things. Those who live like that are dragged down by what they do. They are destroyed and die.Love for money causes all kinds of evil. Some people want to get rich. They have wandered away from the faith. They have wounded themselves with many sorrows.

Mephibosheth was Saul’s grandson. He had also gone down to welcome the king back. He had not taken care of his feet. He hadn’t trimmed his mustache or washed his clothes. He hadn’t done any of those things from the day the king left Jerusalem until the day he returned safely.He came from Jerusalem to welcome the king. The king asked him,“ Mephibosheth, why didn’t you go with me?”He said,“ You are my king and master. I’m not able to walk. So I thought,‘ I’ll have a saddle put on my donkey. I’ll ride on it. Then I can go with the king.’ But my servant Ziba turned against me.He has told you lies about me. King David, you are like an angel of God. So do what you wish.You should have put all the members of my grandfather’s family to death, including me. Instead, you always provided what I needed. So what right do I have to make any more appeals to you?”The king said to him,“ You don’t have to say anything else. I order you and Ziba to divide up Saul’s land between you.”Mephibosheth said to the king,“ I’m happy that you have returned home safely. So just let Ziba have everything.”

That’s what happens to everyone who goes after money in the wrong way. That kind of money takes away the life of those who get it.

Don’t trust your neighbors. Don’t put your faith in your friends. Be careful what you say even to your own wife.
