耶和華這樣說：‘看哪！我必從你家中興起禍患攻擊你；我要在你的眼前把你的妃嬪拿去賜給你的同伴。他要在光天化日之下與她們同床。你在暗中行了這事，我卻要在所有以色列人面前，在光天化日之下行這事報應你。’”

大衛王回到耶路撒冷自己的宮裡，就把以前留下來看守王宮的那十個妃嬪捉起來，關在禁宮裡。王供養她們，卻不再親近她們。她們被禁閉，過著寡婦一般的生活，直到死的日子。

他們面上的表情指證他們的不對；他們像所多瑪一般宣揚自己的罪惡，並不隱瞞；他們有禍了，因為他們自招禍害。

摩西和以色列全體會眾在會幕門口哭泣的時候，以色列人中有一個人來，當著他們的面帶了一個米甸女子到自己的兄弟那裡去。

有一天近黃昏的時候，大衛從床上起來，在王宮的平頂上散步。他從平頂上看見一個婦人在洗澡；這婦人容貌非常美麗。

他們的結局是滅亡，他們的神是自己的肚腹，他們以自己的羞辱為榮耀，所思想的都是地上的事。

所以甘霖停止，春雨不降；你還是一副妓女的面孔（“面孔”原文作“額”），不顧羞恥。

因為她所流的血還在城中；她把血潑在光滑的磐石上，不是倒在地上，被塵土掩蓋。

耶和華說：‘他們行了可憎的事，本應覺得羞愧，可是他們一點羞愧都沒有，恬不知恥。因此他們必仆倒在倒下的人中間；我懲罰他們的時候，他們必倒下來。
