於是王就帶著全家逃命，只留下十個妃嬪看守宮殿。

耶和華說，『我要在你家中降下災禍，我要當著你的面把你的妻妾交給你的近臣，他必在光天化日之下與她們行淫。你在暗地裡做這惡事，我要讓這樣的惡事當著以色列人的面在光天化日之下臨到你。』」

大衛回到耶路撒冷的宮裡，把從前留下來看守王宮的十個妃嬪關進冷宮，供養她們，卻不再和她們同房。她們像寡婦一樣在軟禁中度過餘生。

他們的表情顯出他們心術不正，他們跟所多瑪人一樣對自己的罪惡津津樂道，毫不隱瞞。他們必大禍臨頭，自招毀滅。

摩西和以色列全體會眾正在會幕門口痛哭的時候，有個以色列人當著他們的面把一個米甸女子帶進自家的帳篷。

一天黃昏，大衛從床上起來在王宮頂上散步，看見一個長得非常漂亮的女人在沐浴。

他們的神就是自己的肚腹，他們以自己的羞恥為榮，只想著地上的事，他們的結局是滅亡。

因此，秋雨不降，春雨不來。你卻仍然不知羞恥，一副娼妓的嘴臉。

這城沾滿血腥，任憑受害者的血流在光禿禿的磐石上，而不是流在地上用土掩蓋。

他們做可憎的事會羞愧嗎？不！他們不知廉恥，毫不臉紅。因此，他們要與其他人一樣滅亡，死在我的懲罰下。這是耶和華說的。
