押沙龍謂亞希多弗曰、我儕當若何而行、爾其謀之、

押沙龍謂亞希多弗曰、今日之事、如何處置、爾其斟酌之。

押沙龍謂亞希多弗曰、爾曹計議、當如何以行、

Absalom said to Ahithophel,“ Give us your advice. What should we do?”

Then Absalom said to Ahithophel,“ Give your counsel. What shall we do?”

Then Absalom turned to Ahithophel and asked him,“ What should I do next?”

Then Absalom said to Ahithophel,“ Give me your advice. What should we do?”

Then Absalom said to Ahithophel,“ Give your advice. What should we do?”

Then Absalom said to Ahithophel,“ Give advice as to what we should do.”

Then said Absalom to Ahithophel, Give your counsel what we shall do.

Then Absalom said to Ahithophel,“ Give me your advice. What should we do?”

Then said Absalom to Ahithophel, Give counsel among you what we shall do.

Then Absalom said to Ahithophel,“ Give us your advice. What should we do?”

Then Absalom said to Ahithophel,“ Give your counsel what we shall do.”

There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.

Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.”

On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God.“ Sovereign Lord,” they said,“ you made the heavens and the earth and the sea, and everything in them.You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant, our father David:“‘ Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his anointed one.’Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed.They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen.

Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand, for God is with us.

Woe to those who go to great depths to hide their plans from the Lord, who do their work in darkness and think,“ Who sees us? Who will know?”

Early in the morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people made their plans how to have Jesus executed.

The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them;but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming.

The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,
