Absalom said to Hushai,“ So this is the way you show love to your friend? If he’s your friend, why didn’t you go with him?”

押沙龙问户筛说：“这就是你对朋友的忠诚吗？你为什么不跟你的朋友去呢？”

押沙龙问户筛：“你就以这样的‘慈爱’待你的朋友吗？你为什么没有与你的朋友一同走呢？”

押沙龍問戶篩說：「這是你恩待朋友嗎？為甚麼不與你的朋友同去呢？」

押沙龍對戶篩說：「你這樣做是忠誠對待你的朋友嗎？為甚麼不與你的朋友同去呢？」

押沙龍問戶篩說：「這就是你對朋友的忠誠嗎？你為什麼不跟你的朋友去呢？」

押沙龍問戶篩：“你就以這樣的‘慈愛’待你的朋友嗎？你為甚麼沒有與你的朋友一同走呢？”

押沙龍問戶篩說：『你對你朋友的忠愛就是這樣麼？你為甚麼不跟你朋友一同去呢？

押沙龍問戶篩：「這是你對朋友的忠誠嗎？你為什麼沒有與你的朋友一起離開呢？」

押沙龍曰、爾愛友之情如是乎、何不與友偕行乎、

押沙龍曰、奚不與友偕、爾何不敦友誼、

押沙龍謂戶篩曰、此爾待友之惠乎、何不與爾友偕行、

Absalom said to Hushai,“ So this is the love you show your friend? If he’s your friend, why didn’t you go with him?”

And Absalom said to Hushai,“ Is this your loyalty to your friend? Why did you not go with your friend?”

“ Is this the way you treat your friend David?” Absalom asked him.“ Why aren’t you with him?”

“ Is this your loyalty to your friend?” Absalom asked Hushai.“ Why didn’t you go with your friend?”

But Absalom said to Hushai,“ Is this your loyalty to your friend? Why did you not go with your friend?”

So Absalom said to Hushai,“ Is this your loyalty to your friend? Why did you not go with your friend?”

And Absalom said to Hushai, Is this thy kindness to thy friend? why wentest thou not with thy friend?

“ Is this your loyalty to your friend?” Absalom asked Hushai.“ Why didn’t you go with your friend?”

And Absalom said to Hushai,[ Is] this thy kindness to thy friend? why wentest thou not with thy friend?

Absalom said to Hushai,“ Do you call this loyalty to your friend? Why didn’t you go with your friend?”

Absalom said to Hushai,“ Is this your kindness to your friend? Why didn’t you go with your friend?”

He came from Jerusalem to welcome the king. The king asked him,“ Mephibosheth, why didn’t you go with me?”

A person with unfaithful friends soon comes to ruin. But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

David arrived at the top of the Mount of Olives. That’s where people used to worship God. Hushai, the Arkite, was there to meet him. His robe was torn. There was dust on his head.David said to him,“ If you go with me, you will be too much trouble for me.So return to the city. Say to Absalom,‘ Your Majesty, I’ll be your servant. In the past, I was your father’s servant. But now I’ll be your servant.’ If you do that, you can help me by making sure Ahithophel’s advice fails.Zadok and Abiathar, the priests, will be there with you. Tell them everything you hear in the king’s palace.They have their sons Ahimaaz and Jonathan there with them. Send them to tell me everything you hear.”So David’s trusted friend Hushai went to Jerusalem. He arrived just as Absalom was entering the city.

Is that how you thank the Lord? You aren’t wise. You are foolish. Remember, he’s your Father. He’s your Creator. He made you. He formed you.

A friend loves at all times. They are there to help when trouble comes.
