遂許願曰、如上帝眷佑我、庇護我、我所向往、賜以衣食、安然而歸、則耶和華必為我之上帝。

押沙龍遁於其述王、亞米忽子達買所。大闢思子懷憂、靡日或已。押沙龍居其述、歷至三年。

許願曰、萬有之主耶和華、如垂顧婢難、憶我弗忘、賜婢生男、則必使奉事耶和華、至於畢生、薙髮之刀不加於首。

耶和華曰、彼民逞舌妄言、若援弓發矢、言雖不誠、偏能得志、作惡無已、不識我道。當謹防鄰里、勿信兄弟、蓋兄弟相欺、鄰里譭謗、各相欺誑、不言真實、舌出誑詞、孳孳為惡。

愚魯者流、上帝所不悅、凡指上帝而發願、當償勿緩。

撒母耳曰、掃羅聞之必殺我、若何可往。耶和華曰、爾可備犢、言欲獻於我、

如事耶和華爾視為不善、今日簡所欲事者、或爾祖在大河東所事之上帝、或爾居斯土亞摩哩人之上帝、惟我與全家必事耶和華。

約押遂往其述、攜押沙龍至耶路撒冷。

昔爾請予、代爾祈禱爾之上帝耶和華、言凡我之上帝耶和華諭我、我必聽從、斯言也、非出乎誠心、

押沙龍曰、我遣使邀爾至此、欲爾覲王、以我意告之曰、我自其述至此何為、弗如仍居於彼、今盍許我入覲、如我有咎請王加誅焉。

爾曹自謂與死亡結約、與陰府訂盟、天降大雨、行潦汎濫、必不及於斯土、我惟誑詞是恃、而適以自欺。
