And David was going up the ascent of the Mount of Olives, weeping as he went, and his head was covered, and he was walking barefoot. Then all the people who were with him each covered his own head, and they were going up, weeping as they went.

But David continued up the Mount of Olives, weeping as he went; his head was covered and he was barefoot. All the people with him covered their heads too and were weeping as they went up.

Then Mordecai returned to the king’s gate, while Haman hurried home, mourning, with his head covered.

Your turbans will be on your heads, and your sandals on your feet. You will not mourn and you will not weep; but you will rot away in your guilty deeds, and you will groan to one another.

They have returned with their containers empty; They have been put to shame and humiliated, And they cover their heads,Because the ground is cracked, For there has been no rain on the land. The farmers have been put to shame, They have covered their heads.

Groan silently; do no mourning for the dead. Bind on your turban and put your sandals on your feet, and do not cover your mustache, and do not eat the bread of other people.”

Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

And if one part of the body suffers, all the parts suffer with it; if a part is honored, all the parts rejoice with it.

Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mountain called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey away.

My tears have been my food day and night, While they say to me all day long,“ Where is your God?”I remember these things and pour out my soul within me. For I used to go over with the multitude and walk them to the house of God, With a voice of joy and thanksgiving, a multitude celebrating a festival.Why are you in despair, my soul? And why are you restless within me? Wait for God, for I will again praise Him For the help of His presence, my God.My soul is in despair within me; Therefore I remember You from the land of the Jordan And the peaks of Hermon, from Mount Mizar.Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers and Your waves have passed over me.The Lord will send His goodness in the daytime; And His song will be with me in the night, A prayer to the God of my life.I will say to God my rock,“ Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?”As a shattering of my bones, my adversaries taunt me, While they say to me all day long,“ Where is your God?”Why are you in despair, my soul? And why are you restless within me? Wait for God, for I will again praise Him For the help of His presence, my God.Vindicate me, God, and plead my case against an ungodly nation; Save me from the deceitful and unjust person!For You are the God of my strength; why have You rejected me? Why do I go about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west forming a very large valley. Half of the mountain will move toward the north, and the other half toward the south.

“ Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

When He approached Bethphage and Bethany, near the mountain that is called Olivet, He sent two of the disciples,

And He came out and went, as was His habit, to the Mount of Olives; and the disciples also followed Him.

And as soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen,

Now during the day He was teaching in the temple, but at evening He would go out and spend the night on the mountain that is called Olivet.

When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it,

Why are you in despair, my soul? And why are you restless within me? Wait for God, for I will again praise Him For the help of His presence, my God.

Those who sow in tears shall harvest with joyful shouting.One who goes here and there weeping, carrying his bag of seed, Shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.
