跟隨他的也有撒督亞比亞他和利未人，抬着上帝的櫃；他們將上帝的櫃放下，在亞比亞他身邊，等着眾民全都從城裏往前走出來。

撒督和抬神约柜的利未人也一同来了，将神的约柜放下。亚比亚他上来，等着众民从城里出来过去。

Zadok was there, too, and all the Levites who were with him were carrying the ark of the covenant of God. They set down the ark of God, and Abiathar offered sacrifices until all the people had finished leaving the city.

Zadok also went with them. Some of the Levites went with him. They were carrying the ark of the covenant of God. They set down the ark. Abiathar offered sacrifices until all the people had left the city.

And Abiathar came up, and behold, Zadok came also with all the Levites, bearing the ark of the covenant of God. And they set down the ark of God until the people had all passed out of the city.

全營將要往前行的時候、亞倫和他的兒子們既把聖所和聖所的一切器具遮蓋完了之後，哥轄的子孫就要來抬，只是不可觸着聖物，免得死亡。會棚裏這些物件是哥轄子孫所應當抬的。

亞希突的兒子撒督、和亞比亞他的兒子亞希米勒做祭司長；西萊雅做祕書；

示法做祕書；撒督和亞比亞他做祭司長；

亞希突的兒子亞希米勒有一個兒子名叫亞比亞他溜走了，逃到大衛那裏。

七個祭司要背着七個羊號角在約櫃前面；第七天你們要繞城七次，祭司們要吹號角。

上帝的櫃被拿去；以利的兩個兒子何弗尼非尼哈也死了。

『你要吩咐抬法櫃的祭司從約但河裏上來。』約書亞就吩咐祭司們說：『你們從約但河裏上來。』抬永恆主約櫃的祭司從約但河中間上來；祭司們的腳剛拔起來到旱地上，約但河的水就流回原處，按素常的樣子漲滿兩岸。

吩咐人民說：『你們一看見永恆主你們的上帝的約櫃、而祭司利未人抬着，就要從你們住的地方往前行，在後面跟着走。

這地要歸與撒督子孫中受聖職的祭司，就是那些守盡我所吩咐的職守的；就是當以色列人走迷了路時候、那些沒有走迷了路的；他們不像利未人走迷了。

王又對祭司撒督說：『你看明白麼？你和亞比亞他要安心回城裏去；你兒子亞希瑪斯和亞比亞他的兒子約拿單、你們二人的兒子、都要和你們一同回去。

人民來到營中，以色列的長老就說：『永恆主今天為甚麼擊敗我們於非利士人面前呢？我們將永恆主的約櫃從示羅接到我們這裏來吧，好讓他在我們中間拯救我們脫離敵人的手掌。』於是人民打發了人到示羅，從那裏將坐在兩個基路伯上的萬軍之永恆主的約櫃抬來；以利的兩個兒子何弗尼非尼哈跟上帝的約櫃一同來。永恆主的約櫃到了營中，以色列眾人就大聲歡呼，地都發了回聲。

原來約但河水在收割的日子總是漲滿河岸的。當下抬櫃的人來到約但河；抬櫃的祭司的腳一蘸在水邊，那從上邊往下流的水便從極遠之處、在亞當、在撒拉但旁邊的城那裏站住，立成了一壘，而那向亞拉巴海、就是鹽海、往下流的水便全然截斷；於是人民就在耶利哥對面過去了。抬永恆主約櫃的祭司在約但河中間的乾地上直站着，等以色列眾人都在乾地上過去，直到全國的人盡都過了約但河為止。

但是撒督祭司、耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅、拿單神言人、示每、利以、和大衛的勇士、都不擁護亞多尼雅。

以下這些人是他的大臣：撒督的兒子亞撒利雅做祭司；示沙的兩個兒子以利何烈和亞希亞做祕書；亞希律的兒子約沙法做通知官；耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅統領軍隊；撒督和亞比亞他做祭司長；

約書亞又對祭司們說：『你們要抬着約櫃，在人民前面過去。』他們就抬着約櫃，在人民前面走。

那時大衛說：『上帝的櫃、除了利未人之外、沒有人可以抬；因為永恆主所揀選來抬永恆主的櫃、並永遠伺候他的、乃是他們。』

惟獨沒有交給哥轄的子孫，因為聖物的事務是他們負責；他們是用肩膀來抬的。

祭司撒督和亞比亞他豈不是都要和你在那裏麼？你從王宮裏聽見甚麼，就要告訴祭司撒督和亞比亞他。

亞希突生撒督，撒督生亞希瑪斯，亞希瑪斯生亞撒利雅，亞撒利雅生約哈難，約哈難生亞撒利雅（那在所羅門於耶路撒冷所建造的殿中供祭司職分的就是他）亞撒利雅生亞瑪利雅，亞瑪利雅生亞希突，亞希突生撒督，撒督生沙龍，

於是嫩的兒子約書亞把祭司們叫了來，對他們說：『你們抬起約櫃；要有七個祭司背着七個羊號角在永恆主的櫃前面。』

王就立了耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅統領着軍隊來代替約押；王也使祭司撒督代替亞比亞他。

抬永恆主櫃的人走了六步，大衛就獻牛和肥畜為祭。
