Sheva was court secretary; Zadok and Abiathar were priests;

However, one of the sons of Ahimelech son of Ahitub escaped. His name was Abiathar, and he fled to David.

Have seven priests carry seven ram’s-horn trumpets in front of the ark. But on the seventh day, march around the city seven times, while the priests blow the ram’s horns.

but the priest Zadok, Benaiah son of Jehoiada, the prophet Nathan, Shimei, Rei, and David’s royal guard did not side with Adonijah.

and these were his officials: Azariah son of Zadok, priest;Elihoreph and Ahijah the sons of Shisha, secretaries; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud, court historian;Benaiah son of Jehoiada, in charge of the army; Zadok and Abiathar, priests;

Then he said to the priests,“ Carry the ark of the covenant and go on ahead of the people.” So they carried the ark of the covenant and went ahead of them.

Then David said,“ No one but the Levites may carry the ark of God, because the LORD has chosen them to carry the ark of the LORD and to minister before him forever.”

But he did not give any to the Kohathites, since their responsibility was service related to the holy objects carried on their shoulders.

So Joshua son of Nun summoned the priests and said to them,“ Take up the ark of the covenant and have seven priests carry seven ram’s horns in front of the ark of the LORD.”

Then the king appointed Benaiah son of Jehoiada in Joab’s place over the army, and he appointed the priest Zadok in Abiathar’s place.

When those carrying the ark of the LORD advanced six steps, he sacrificed an ox and a fattened calf.
