闔家攻婢曰、殺昆弟者當解之至、以償弟命、然婢止存此子、猶爐存爝火、尚欲撲滅之乎、若是則我夫之名不能恆繼於世。

Thus will they quench my coal which is left, and will leave to my husband neither name nor remainder upon the face of the earth.

In so doing we will also destroy the heir.’ They want to extinguish my remaining coal, leaving no one on the face of the earth to carry on the name of my husband.”

Behold, the whole family has risen against your servant, and they say,‘ Deliver him who struck his brother, that we may kill him for the life of his brother whom he killed, and so destroy the heir also.’ Thus they would quench my coal which is left, and would leave to my husband neither name nor remainder on the surface of the earth.”

The avenger of blood himself is to kill the murderer; when he finds him, he is to kill him.
