我們一生的年日是七十歲，若是強壯可到八十歲；但其中所矜誇的不過是勞苦愁煩，轉眼即逝，我們便如飛而去。

他若不是出於預謀，而是上帝交在他手中，我就設立一個地方，讓他可以逃到那裏。

彼得開口說：「我真的看出上帝是不偏待人的。

「因樹有指望，若被砍下，還可發芽，嫩枝生長不息。樹根若衰老在地裏，樹幹也死在土中，及至得了水氣，還會發芽，長出枝條，像新栽的樹一樣。但壯士一死就消逝了；人一氣絕，他在何處呢？海中的水枯竭，江河消散乾涸。人一躺下就不再起來，等到諸天沒有了，仍不復醒，也不能從睡中喚醒。

他待王子不徇情面，也不看重富足的過於貧寒的，因為他們都是他手所造的。

「他們要承認自己的罪孽和祖先的罪孽，就是背叛我，行事與我作對的過犯。

大衛向使者說：「你對約押這樣說：『不要為這事難過，因為刀劍可能吞滅這人或那人。你只管竭力攻城，將城傾覆。』你要勉勵約押。」

因為世人遭遇的，走獸也遭遇，所遭遇的都一樣：這個怎樣死，那個也怎樣死，他們都有一樣的氣息。人不能強於走獸，全是虛空；都歸一處，都是出於塵土，也都歸於塵土。

就打發他們的門徒同希律黨人去見耶穌，說：「老師，我們知道你是誠實的，並且誠誠實實傳上帝的道，無論誰你都一視同仁，因為你不看人的面子。

既然你們稱那不偏待人、按各人行為審判人的主為父，就當存敬畏的心，度你們在世寄居的日子。
