凡有血氣的就必一同死亡；世人必仍歸塵土。

人若死了豈能再活呢？我只要在我一切爭戰的日子，等我被釋放的時候來到。

活着的人知道必死；死了的人毫無所知，也不再得賞賜；他們的名無人記念。

在耶路撒冷周圍流他們的血如水，無人葬埋。

你使人歸於塵土，說：你們世人要歸回。

我們一生的年日是七十歲，若是強壯可到八十歲；但其中所矜誇的不過是勞苦愁煩，轉眼成空，我們便如飛而去。

人若不是埋伏着殺人，乃是神交在他手中，我就設下一個地方，他可以往那裏逃跑。

彼得就開口說：「我真看出神是不偏待人。

樹若被砍下，還可指望發芽，嫩枝生長不息；其根雖然衰老在地裏，幹也死在土中，及至得了水氣，還要發芽，又長枝條，像新栽的樹一樣。但人死亡而消滅；他氣絕，竟在何處呢？海中的水絕盡，江河消散乾涸。人也是如此，躺下不再起來，等到天沒有了，仍不得復醒，也不得從睡中喚醒。

他待王子不徇情面，也不看重富足的過於貧窮的，因為都是他手所造。

王向使者說：「你告訴約押說：『不要因這事愁悶，刀劍或吞滅這人或吞滅那人，沒有一定的；你只管竭力攻城，將城傾覆。』可以用這話勉勵約押。」

因為世人遭遇的，獸也遭遇，所遭遇的都是一樣：這個怎樣死，那個也怎樣死，氣息都是一樣。人不能強於獸，都是虛空。都歸一處，都是出於塵土，也都歸於塵土。

就打發他們的門徒同希律黨的人去見耶穌，說：「夫子，我們知道你是誠實人，並且誠誠實實傳神的道，甚麼人你都不徇情面，因為你不看人的外貌。

你們既稱那不偏待人、按各人行為審判人的主為父，就當存敬畏的心度你們在世寄居的日子，
