Jonadab said to him,“ Lie down on your bed and pretend to be ill. And when your father comes to see you, say to him,‘ Let my sister Tamar come and give me bread to eat, and prepare the food in my sight, that I may see it and eat it from her hand.’”

“ Well,” Jonadab said,“ I’ll tell you what to do. Go back to bed and pretend you are ill. When your father comes to see you, ask him to let Tamar come and prepare some food for you. Tell him you’ll feel better if she prepares it as you watch and feeds you with her own hands.”

Jonadab said to him,“ Lie down on your bed and pretend you’re sick. When your father comes to see you, say to him,‘ Please let my sister Tamar come and give me something to eat. Let her prepare a meal in my presence so I can watch and eat from her hand.’”

Jonadab then said to him,“ Lie down on your bed and pretend to be ill; when your father comes to see you, say to him,‘ Please have my sister Tamar come and give me food to eat, and have her prepare the food in my sight, so that I may see it and eat from her hand.’ ”

So Jonadab said to him,“ Lie down on your bed and pretend to be ill. And when your father comes to see you, say to him,‘ Please let my sister Tamar come and give me food, and prepare the food in my sight, that I may see it and eat it from her hand.’”

And Jonadab said unto him, Lay thee down on thy bed, and feign thyself sick: and when thy father cometh to see thee, say unto him, Let my sister Tamar come, I pray thee, and give me bread to eat, and dress the food in my sight, that I may see it, and eat it from her hand.

Jonadab said to him,“ Lie down on your bed and pretend you’re sick. When your father comes to see you, say to him,‘ Please let my sister Tamar come and give me something to eat. Let her prepare food in my presence so I can watch and eat from her hand.’”

And Jonadab said unto him, Lay thee down on thy bed, and make thyself sick: and when thy father cometh to see thee, say unto him, I pray thee, let my sister Tamar come, and give me meat, and dress the meat in my sight, that I may see[ it], and eat[ it] at her hand.

Jonadab said to him,“ Lay down on your bed, and pretend to be sick. When your father comes to see you, tell him,‘ Please let my sister Tamar come and give me bread to eat, and prepare the food in my sight, that I may see it, and eat it from her hand.’”

So now you and the council request the commanding officer to bring him down to you, as if you were going to determine his case by conducting a more thorough inquiry. We are ready to kill him before he comes near this place.”
