Now Absalom had commanded his servants, saying, Mark ye now when Amnon’s heart is merry with wine, and when I say unto you, Smite Amnon; then kill him, fear not: have not I commanded you? be courageous, and be valiant.

押沙龙吩咐仆人说：“你们注意，看暗嫩饮酒畅快的时候，我对你们说杀暗嫩，你们便杀他，不要惧怕。这不是我吩咐你们的吗？你们只管壮胆奋勇！”

押沙龙吩咐仆人说：“你们注意，暗嫩开怀畅饮的时候，我对你们说击杀暗嫩，你们就杀他。不要惧怕，这不是我吩咐你们的吗？你们要刚强，作勇士！”

押沙龙吩咐仆人说：“你们注意，暗嫩开怀畅饮的时候，我对你们说击杀暗嫩，你们就杀他。不要惧怕，这不是我吩咐你们的吗？你们要刚强，作勇士！”

押沙龙吩咐仆人说：“你们要留意，当暗嫩喝得正高兴的时候，我叫你们杀他，你们就要动手。不要畏缩，要刚强勇敢！因为这是我的命令。”

押沙龙吩咐他的仆人说：“你们注意！暗嫩酒酣耳热的时候，我对你们说：‘击杀暗嫩！’你们就把他杀死。不要惧怕，这不是我吩咐你们的吗？你们要坚强，作勇敢的人。”

押沙龍吩咐僕人說：「你們注意，看暗嫩飲酒暢快的時候，我對你們說殺暗嫩，你們便殺他，不要懼怕。這不是我吩咐你們的嗎？你們只管壯膽奮勇！」

押沙龍吩咐僕人說：「你們注意，暗嫩開懷暢飲的時候，我對你們說擊殺暗嫩，你們就殺他。不要懼怕，這不是我吩咐你們的嗎？你們要剛強，作勇士！」

押沙龍吩咐僕人說：「你們注意，暗嫩開懷暢飲的時候，我對你們說擊殺暗嫩，你們就殺他。不要懼怕，這不是我吩咐你們的嗎？你們要剛強，作勇士！」

押沙龍吩咐僕人說：「你們要留意，當暗嫩喝得正高興的時候，我叫你們殺他，你們就要動手。不要畏縮，要剛強勇敢！因為這是我的命令。」

押沙龍吩咐他的僕人說：“你們注意！暗嫩酒酣耳熱的時候，我對你們說：‘擊殺暗嫩！’你們就把他殺死。不要懼怕，這不是我吩咐你們的嗎？你們要堅強，作勇敢的人。”

押沙龍擺設了筵席、如同王的筵席；他吩咐僮僕說：『你們看暗嫩喝酒心裏高興的時候，我對你們說：「擊殺暗嫩」，你們便殺死他，不要懼怕；這不是我吩咐你們的麼？你們只管壯膽奮勇。』

押沙龍吩咐他的僕人們說：「你們要注意！當暗嫩喝酒暢快的時候，我對你們說：『擊殺暗嫩！』你們就把他殺了。不要害怕！這不是我吩咐你們的嗎？你們要堅強，作英勇的人！」

押沙龍命其僕曰、當伺暗嫩飲酒快心、我諭爾曰擊暗嫩、則殺之、毋畏、命爾者非我乎、當壯膽而奮勇、

押沙龍預囑其僕曰、待暗嫩飲酒已酣、我曰擊暗嫩、則殺之無畏、我既令爾、當強乃志、毋忝英武。

押沙龍預命其僕曰、爾見暗嫩飲酒已酣、我曰擊暗嫩、爾則殺之勿懼、命爾者我、爾當強爾心強爾心或作放膽為勇士、

Absalom ordered his men,“ Listen! When Amnon is in high spirits from drinking wine and I say to you,‘ Strike Amnon down,’ then kill him. Don’t be afraid. Haven’t I given you this order? Be strong and brave.”

Absalom ordered his men,“ Listen! When Amnon has had too much wine to drink, I’ll say to you,‘ Strike Amnon down.’ When I do, kill him. Don’t be afraid. I’ve given you an order, haven’t I? Be strong and brave.”

Then Absalom commanded his servants,“ Mark when Amnon’s heart is merry with wine, and when I say to you,‘ Strike Amnon,’ then kill him. Do not fear; have I not commanded you? Be courageous and be valiant.”

Absalom told his men,“ Wait until Amnon gets drunk; then at my signal, kill him! Don’t be afraid. I’m the one who has given the command. Take courage and do it!”

Now Absalom commanded his young men,“ Watch Amnon until he is in a good mood from the wine. When I order you to strike Amnon, then kill him. Don’t be afraid. Am I not the one who has commanded you? Be strong and valiant!”

Then Absalom commanded his servants, saying,“ See now, when Amnon’s heart is cheerful with wine, and I say to you,‘ Strike Amnon,’ then put him to death. Do not fear; have I not commanded you myself? Be courageous and be valiant.”

Now Absalom had commanded his servants, saying,“ Watch now, when Amnon’s heart is merry with wine, and when I say to you,‘ Strike Amnon!’ then kill him. Do not be afraid. Have I not commanded you? Be courageous and valiant.”

And Absalom commanded his servants, saying, Mark ye now, when Amnon’s heart is merry with wine; and when I say unto you, Smite Amnon, then kill him; fear not; have not I commanded you? be courageous, and be valiant.

Now Absalom commanded his young men,“ Watch Amnon until he is in a good mood from the wine. When I order you to strike Amnon, then kill him. Don’t be afraid. Am I not the one who has commanded you? Be strong and courageous!”

Absalom instructed his servants,“ Look! When Amnon is drunk and I say to you,‘ Strike Amnon down,’ kill him then and there. Don’t fear! Is it not I who have given you these instructions? Be strong and courageous!”

Absalom commanded his servants, saying,“ Mark now, when Amnon’s heart is merry with wine; and when I tell you,‘ Strike Amnon,’ then kill him. Don’t be afraid. Haven’t I commanded you? Be courageous, and be valiant!”

And they sat down, and did eat and drink both of them together: for the damsel’s father had said unto the man, Be content, I pray thee, and tarry all night, and let thine heart be merry.

[ Now] as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house round about,[ and] beat at the door, and spake to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thine house, that we may know him.

And when the man rose up to depart, he, and his concubine, and his servant, his father in law, the damsel’s father, said unto him, Behold, now the day draweth toward evening, I pray you tarry all night: behold, the day groweth to an end, lodge here, that thine heart may be merry; and tomorrow get you early on your way, that thou mayest go home.

And Abigail came to Nabal; and, behold, he held a feast in his house, like the feast of a king; and Nabal’s heart[ was] merry within him, for he[ was] very drunken: wherefore she told him nothing, less or more, until the morning light.But it came to pass in the morning, when the wine was gone out of Nabal, and his wife had told him these things, that his heart died within him, and he became[ as] a stone.And it came to pass about ten days[ after], that the LORD smote Nabal, that he died.

And when Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn: and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down.

For while[ they be] folden together[ as] thorns, and while they are drunken[ as] drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.

And they went out at noon. But Benhadad[ was] drinking himself drunk in the pavilions, he and the kings, the thirty and two kings that helped him.

Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works.

And Saul sware to her by the LORD, saying,[ As] the LORD liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing.

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and[ so] that day come upon you unawares.

Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which[ was] in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein.Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which[ was] at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them.They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.Then the king’s countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.

And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God[ is] with thee whithersoever thou goest.

And the king said unto the footmen that stood about him, Turn, and slay the priests of the LORD; because their hand also[ is] with David, and because they knew when he fled, and did not shew it to me. But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall upon the priests of the LORD.And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod.

A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all[ things].

Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in,[ and] lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

And wine[ that] maketh glad the heart of man,[ and] oil to make[ his] face to shine, and bread[ which] strengtheneth man’s heart.

And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth.

In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain.

And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.

Then Peter and the[ other] apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see[ them] upon the stools; if it[ be] a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it[ be] a daughter, then she shall live.But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.

On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven chamberlains that served in the presence of Ahasuerus the king,

And they came to Balaam, and said to him, Thus saith Balak the son of Zippor, Let nothing, I pray thee, hinder thee from coming unto me:For I will promote thee unto very great honour, and I will do whatsoever thou sayest unto me: come therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people.

And when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him drunk: and at even he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house.
