Why did you despise the word of the Lord by doing what is evil in his eyes? You struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and took his wife to be your own. You killed him with the sword of the Ammonites.

Why did you turn your back on what I told you to do? You did what is evil in my sight. You made sure that Uriah, the Hittite, would be killed in battle. You took his wife to be your own. You let the men of Ammon kill him with their swords.

Why have you despised the word of the Lord, to do what is evil in his sight? You have struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and have taken his wife to be your wife and have killed him with the sword of the Ammonites.

Why, then, have you despised the word of the Lord and done this horrible deed? For you have murdered Uriah the Hittite with the sword of the Ammonites and stolen his wife.

叛逆不亞於行巫術的罪，頑固不化無異於拜偶像。你拒絕耶和華的命令，祂也拒絕你做王。」

耶和華說：「猶大人三番四次地犯罪，我必不收回對他們的懲罰，因為他們厭棄耶和華的訓誨，不遵守我的律例。他們祖先祭拜的偶像使他們走入歧途。

大衛差人把她接來，她來了，大衛就與她同寢，那時她的月經剛潔淨。事後，她便回家去了。

第二天早上，大衛給約押寫了一封信，要烏利亞帶去。大衛在信上吩咐約押：「你把烏利亞派到前線最險惡的地方，到時其他人都要撤退，好讓敵人殺死他。」於是約押圍攻城池時，便派烏利亞到最強悍的敵人那裡。敵人出來迎戰，大衛的軍中有幾位陣亡，赫人烏利亞也死了。約押就派人去向大衛稟告戰爭的詳情，並叮囑信使：「你向王稟告戰情後，他若發怒責問你，『為什麼還冒死逼近呢？你們難道不知道敵人會從城牆上射箭嗎？難道你們不知道耶路·比設的兒子亞比米勒是誰殺的嗎？一個婦人從城牆上扔下一塊磨石，把他砸死在提備斯。你們為什麼還要逼近城牆呢？』你就對王說，『你的僕人赫人烏利亞也死了。』」於是，信使前來見大衛，照約押的吩咐向大衛稟告。他說：「敵軍勢力強大，在城外跟我們交戰，但我們把他們追到城門口。敵軍的弓箭手從城牆上射死了王的幾個士兵，赫人烏利亞也死了。」大衛便對信使說：「你去告訴約押不要為這事難過，因為刀劍無情。讓他只管竭力攻陷城池。要這樣勉勵約押。」拔示芭聽到丈夫烏利亞的死訊之後就為他守喪。守喪結束後，大衛便派人把她接進宮裡，她就做了大衛的妻子，並給他生了個兒子。然而，大衛的所作所為令耶和華十分不悅。

如果他們做我視為惡的事，不聽從我的話，我必改變心意，取消我原本要賜給他們的福氣。

凡是殺人害命的，無論人或獸，我必向他們追討血債。凡殺人的，我必追討他的血債。凡殺害人的，也必被人殺害，因為人是上帝照著自己的形像造的。

我犯罪得罪了你，唯獨得罪了你，做了你看為邪惡的事，所以你對我的責備是正當的，你對我的審判是公正的。

他們的根必朽爛，花朵如飛塵飄落，就像火焰吞滅禾稭，燒盡乾草，因為他們厭棄以色列之聖者的訓誨，藐視萬軍之耶和華的言語。

耶和華啊，你洞察我的內心，知道我的一切。我或坐下或起來，你都知道，你從遠處就知道我的心思意念。

你知道我們的罪惡，對我們隱秘的罪瞭若指掌。

他還在欣嫩子谷把自己的兒子燒死，獻作祭物。他行巫術、占卜、觀兆，求問靈媒和巫師。他做了許多耶和華視為惡的事，惹耶和華發怒。

但不管是以色列人還是外族人，若故意妄為，褻瀆了耶和華，都要被剷除，因為他藐視耶和華的話，違背耶和華的命令，必須被剷除，罪責自負。」
