Nevertheless, because you have shown utter contempt for the word of the Lord by doing this, your child will die.”

只是你行这事，叫耶和华的仇敌大得亵渎的机会，故此，你所得的孩子必定要死。”

只是在这事上，你大大藐视耶和华，因此，你生的孩子必定要死。”

但你做的丑事给了仇敌亵渎耶和华的机会，所以你这个孩子必定死。”

只是因为你作了这事，使耶和华的仇敌大得亵渎的机会，所以你所生的儿子必定死。”

只是你行這事，叫耶和華的仇敵大得褻瀆的機會，故此，你所得的孩子必定要死。」

只是在這事上，你大大藐視耶和華，因此，你生的孩子必定要死。」

然爾行此、使耶和華之敵得毀謗之由、故爾所生之子必死、

爾之作為若此、使逆耶和華之人愈生厭惡、故爾所得之子必死。

然爾之為此、使主之敵得毀謗之由、故爾所得之子必死、

But because by doing this you have shown utter contempt for the Lord, the son born to you will die.”

But you have dared to show great disrespect for the Lord. So the son who has been born to you will die.”

Nevertheless, because by this deed you have utterly scorned the Lord, the child who is born to you shall die.”

However, because you treated the LORD with such contempt in this matter, the son born to you will die.”

However, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, the child also who is born to you shall surely die.”

Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of Jehovah to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.

However, because you treated the Lord with such contempt in this matter, the son born to you will die.”

What is this?” asks the Lord.“ Why are my people enslaved again? Those who rule them shout in exultation. My name is blasphemed all day long.

No wonder the Scriptures say,“ The Gentiles blaspheme the name of God because of you.”

But when they were scattered among the nations, they brought shame on my holy name. For the nations said,‘ These are the people of the Lord, but he couldn’t keep them safe in his own land!’Then I was concerned for my holy name, on which my people brought shame among the nations.“ Therefore, give the people of Israel this message from the Sovereign Lord: I am bringing you back, but not because you deserve it. I am doing it to protect my holy name, on which you brought shame while you were scattered among the nations.I will show how holy my great name is— the name on which you brought shame among the nations. And when I reveal my holiness through you before their very eyes, says the Sovereign Lord, then the nations will know that I am the Lord.

“ What sorrow awaits the world, because it tempts people to sin. Temptations are inevitable, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting.

Joyful are those you discipline, Lord, those you teach with your instructions.

My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you.For the Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.

Yet when we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned along with the world.

Then I pressed further,“ What you are doing is not right! Should you not walk in the fear of our God in order to avoid being mocked by enemy nations?

How long, O God, will you allow our enemies to insult you? Will you let them dishonor your name forever?

“ From among all the families on the earth, I have been intimate with you alone. That is why I must punish you for all your sins.”

I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.

if they do not obey my decrees and fail to keep my commands,then I will punish their sin with the rod, and their disobedience with beating.But I will never stop loving him nor fail to keep my promise to him.

For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.”
