Nevertheless, because by this deed you have utterly scorned the Lord, the child who is born to you shall die.”

只是你行这事，叫耶和华的仇敌大得亵渎的机会，故此，你所得的孩子必定要死。”

只是你行這事，叫耶和華的仇敵大得褻瀆的機會，故此，你所得的孩子必定要死。」

然爾行此、使耶和華之敵得毀謗之由、故爾所生之子必死、

爾之作為若此、使逆耶和華之人愈生厭惡、故爾所得之子必死。

然爾之為此、使主之敵得毀謗之由、故爾所得之子必死、

But because by doing this you have shown utter contempt for the Lord, the son born to you will die.”

But you have dared to show great disrespect for the Lord. So the son who has been born to you will die.”

Nevertheless, because you have shown utter contempt for the word of the Lord by doing this, your child will die.”

However, because you treated the LORD with such contempt in this matter, the son born to you will die.”

However, since by this deed you have shown utter disrespect for the Lord, the child himself who is born to you shall certainly die.”

However, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, the child also who is born to you shall surely die.”

Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of Jehovah to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.

However, because you treated the Lord with such contempt in this matter, the son born to you will die.”

Now therefore what have I here,” declares the Lord,“ seeing that my people are taken away for nothing? Their rulers wail,” declares the Lord,“ and continually all the day my name is despised.

For, as it is written,“ The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”

But when they came to the nations, wherever they came, they profaned my holy name, in that people said of them,‘ These are the people of the Lord, and yet they had to go out of his land.’But I had concern for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations to which they came.“ Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came.And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. And the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Lord God, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes.

“ Woe to the world for temptations to sin! For it is necessary that temptations come, but woe to the one by whom the temptation comes!

Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O Lord, and whom you teach out of your law,

My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline or be weary of his reproof,for the Lord reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.

But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world.

So I said,“ The thing that you are doing is not good. Ought you not to walk in the fear of our God to prevent the taunts of the nations our enemies?

How long, O God, is the foe to scoff? Is the enemy to revile your name forever?

“ You only have I known of all the families of the earth; therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.

Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.

if they violate my statutes and do not keep my commandments,then I will punish their transgression with the rod and their iniquity with stripes,but I will not remove from him my steadfast love or be false to my faithfulness.

For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.”
