And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against Jehovah. And Nathan said unto David, Jehovah also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.

David responded to Nathan,“ I have sinned against the Lord.” Then Nathan replied to David,“ The Lord has taken away your sin; you will not die.

And David’s heart condemned him after he had numbered the people. So David said to the Lord,“ I have sinned greatly in what I have done; but now, I pray, O Lord, take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have done very foolishly.”

‘ The man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, he who commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress, shall surely be put to death.

He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying,“ Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said,“ See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.”

And the son said to him,‘ Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

Who is a God like You, Pardoning iniquity And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy.He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins Into the depths of the sea.

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit.When I kept silent, my bones grew old Through my groaning all the day long.For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was turned into the drought of summer. So he sent and had John beheaded in prison.

If You, Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared.

Though He causes grief, Yet He will show compassion According to the multitude of His mercies.

For Herod had laid hold of John and bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife.Because John had said to him,“ It is not lawful for you to have her.”And although he wanted to put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.

Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty men. So he went up to him; and there he was, sitting on the top of a hill. And he spoke to him:“ Man of God, the king has said,‘ Come down!’”
