有人張幕於宮巔、押沙龍遂御嬪妃、以色列族中無不知之。

上帝必鞫萬事、彰其隱微、或善或惡、加以賞罰。

大闢遣使取之、既至與之偕寢、婦蒙不潔、自濯其身而歸。旋即懷妊、遣人告大闢曰、我已懷妊。大闢遣使詣約押所、曰、使赫人烏利亞至此、約押遵命。烏利亞既至、大闢問曰、約押無恙耶、民亦無恙耶、戰事若何。旋使烏利亞歸家濯足、烏利亞出王宮、王賜肴饌、以隨其後。烏利亞寢於宮門、與王之臣僕偕、不返私第。或告大闢、烏利亞未歸其第、大闢謂烏利亞曰、爾自遄征而至、曷不歸第。烏利亞曰、法匱及以色列猶大二族、俱居於幕、我主約押、及我主之僕從在野、建營而居處、我豈可歸第飲食、與妻偕寢乎。我指王以誓、亦指爾生命以誓、我必不行此。大闢謂烏利亞曰、今日宿此、明日我遣爾往。烏利亞居耶路撒冷、至於明晨、大闢召之於其前、賜以飲食、使之醉飽、至夕烏利亞出、寢於床、與主之臣僕偕、不歸其室。詰朝大闢致書約押、付於烏利亞手。書曰、戰事孔亟之時、使烏利亞列於前茅、命眾悉退、留彼獨在、被擊而死。

時未至、勿擬議人、待主臨日、將照諸幽隱、發諸心謀、人人褒貶於上帝、
