耶路巴力，就是基甸，和所有跟随他的人早晨起来，在哈律泉旁安营。米甸营在他北边，靠近摩利冈的平原。

押尼珥回到希伯仑，约押领他到城门中间，要与他私下交谈，就在那里刺穿了他的肚腹。他就死了，因为他流了约押兄弟亚撒黑的血。

所以那日人称基甸为耶路巴力，意思是：“他拆毁了巴力的坛，让巴力与他争辩吧。”

他们都要发言，对你说：‘你也变为软弱，像我们一样吗？你也成了我们的样子吗？’

撒玛利亚所犯的罪不及你的一半，你所做可憎的事比她更多；比起你所做这一切可憎的事，你的姊妹倒显为义。你既为你的姊妹辩护，就要担当自己的羞辱。因你所犯的罪比她们更可憎，她们比你倒显为义；你既使你的姊妹显为义，就要抱愧，担当自己的羞辱。”

你手未曾被捆绑，脚未曾被脚镣锁住。你仆倒，如仆倒在凶恶之子手下一样。于是众百姓又为押尼珥哀哭。

求你救我脱离一切的过犯，不要使我受愚顽人的羞辱。

亚比米勒到提备斯，对着提备斯安营，攻取了那城。城中有一座坚固的楼；城里所有的居民，无论男女，都逃到那里，关上门，上了楼顶。亚比米勒到了楼前，攻打它。他挨近楼门，要放火焚烧。有一个妇人把一块上磨石抛在亚比米勒的头上，打破了他的头盖骨。他就急忙叫拿他兵器的青年来，对他说：“拔出你的刀来，杀了我吧！免得有人提到我说：‘他被一个妇人杀了。’”于是那青年把他刺透，他就死了。
