耶路巴力，就是基甸，和所有跟隨他的人早晨起來，在哈律泉旁安營。米甸營在他北邊，靠近摩利岡的平原。

押尼珥回到希伯崙，約押領他到城門中間，要與他私下交談，就在那裏刺穿了他的肚腹。他就死了，因為他流了約押兄弟亞撒黑的血。

所以那日人稱基甸為耶路巴力，意思是：「他拆毀了巴力的壇，讓巴力與他爭辯吧。」

他們都要發言，對你說：『你也變為軟弱，像我們一樣嗎？你也成了我們的樣子嗎？』

撒瑪利亞所犯的罪不及你的一半，你所做可憎的事比她更多；比起你所做這一切可憎的事，你的姊妹倒顯為義。你既為你的姊妹辯護，就要擔當自己的羞辱。因你所犯的罪比她們更可憎，她們比你倒顯為義；你既使你的姊妹顯為義，就要抱愧，擔當自己的羞辱。」

你手未曾被捆綁，腳未曾被腳鐐鎖住。你仆倒，如仆倒在兇惡之子手下一樣。於是眾百姓又為押尼珥哀哭。

求你救我脫離一切的過犯，不要使我受愚頑人的羞辱。

亞比米勒到提備斯，對着提備斯安營，攻取了那城。城中有一座堅固的樓；城裏所有的居民，無論男女，都逃到那裏，關上門，上了樓頂。亞比米勒到了樓前，攻打它。他挨近樓門，要放火焚燒。有一個婦人把一塊上磨石拋在亞比米勒的頭上，打破了他的頭蓋骨。他就急忙叫拿他兵器的青年來，對他說：「拔出你的刀來，殺了我吧！免得有人提到我說：『他被一個婦人殺了。』」於是那青年把他刺透，他就死了。
