耶路‧巴力就是基甸，他和一切跟隨的人早晨起來，在哈律泉旁安營。米甸營在他們北邊的平原，靠近摩利岡。

押尼珥回到希伯崙，約押領他到城門的甕洞，假作要與他說機密話，就在那裏刺透他的肚腹，他便死了。這是報殺他兄弟亞撒黑的仇。

所以當日人稱基甸為耶路‧巴力，意思說：「他拆毀巴力的壇，讓巴力與他爭論。」

他們都要發言對你說：你也變為軟弱像我們一樣嗎？你也成了我們的樣子嗎？

撒馬利亞沒有犯你一半的罪，你行可憎的事比她更多，使你的姊妹因你所行一切可憎的事，倒顯為義。你既斷定你姊妹為義，就要擔當自己的羞辱；因你所犯的罪比她們更為可憎，她們就比你更顯為義；你既使你的姊妹顯為義，你就要抱愧擔當自己的羞辱。」

你手未曾捆綁，腳未曾鎖住。你死，如人死在罪孽之輩手下一樣。於是眾民又為押尼珥哀哭。

求你救我脫離一切的過犯，不要使我受愚頑人的羞辱。

亞比米勒到提備斯，向提備斯安營，就攻取了那城。城中有一座堅固的樓；城裏的眾人，無論男女，都逃進樓去，關上門，上了樓頂。亞比米勒到了樓前攻打，挨近樓門，要用火焚燒。有一個婦人把一塊上磨石拋在亞比米勒的頭上，打破了他的腦骨。他就急忙喊叫拿他兵器的少年人，對他說：「拔出你的刀來，殺了我吧！免得人議論我說，他為一個婦人所殺。」於是少年人把他刺透，他就死了。
