於是女人見那棵樹的果子做食品似乎好喫，又悅人眼目，而且可喜愛、能使人有智慧，就摘取那果子來喫了；又給她丈夫一齊喫，她丈夫也喫了。

求你使我轉眼、不看虛謊；使我在你的話語上活過來。

『且睡片時，且打盹片時，且抱着手躺着片時』，你的貧窮就如攔路賊忽來，你的窮乏就像武裝匪來到了！

豔麗乃虛假；美容是浮華；惟獨敬畏永恆主的婦女、才配得稱讚。

耶路撒冷的房屋、和猶大列王的宮殿，就是一切房屋，人在那些房頂上向天上萬象燻祭或向別的神澆奠祭的，都必像陀斐特地方一樣地被沾污。」』

那我們就不該睡着、像其餘的人一樣了；卻要儆醒着、冷靜戒備着。因為睡着的人是夜裏睡，醉酒的人是夜裏醉。

他來到門徒那裏，見他們睡着，就對彼得說：『你們竟這樣沒有力量同我儆醒麼？要儆醒，要禱告，免得入了試誘；心靈固然切願着，肉體卻軟弱。』

他們進屋子的時候，伊施波設正在臥房裏躺在床上；他們把他一刺，便殺死他，割下他的頭，拿着那頭，走了亞拉巴的路、走一整夜，

神子們看見人類的女子俊美，就隨意揀選娶為妻子。

但萬事的結局近了，所以你們要神志清明，要冷靜戒備着，以便禱告。

懶惰能使人沉睡；懈怠的人必受饑餓。

那地的族長希未人、哈抹的兒子示劍、看見她，就拉住她，和她同寢，玷辱了她。

我在暗中告訴你們的，你們要在大白日天說出來；你們耳中所聽的，要在房頂上宣傳出來。

大家從邱壇下來進城，有人在房頂上給掃羅鋪床，

比錄人臨門的兒子利甲和巴拿出來，約在日中炎熱的時候到了伊施波設的家；伊施波設正睡午覺。

波提乏將一切所有的、都放交約瑟手中，除了自己喫的飯以外，別的事一概不知，不跟約瑟計較。約瑟生得丰姿俊秀、容貌美麗。
