但是我告訴你們：所有懷著慾念看女人的，就已經在心裡和她通姦了。

第二天，當他們趕路快到約帕的時候，大約中午十二點，彼得上屋頂去禱告。

你心裡不要貪愛她的美色，也不要被她的眼簾勾引。

女人見那棵樹的果實作為食物很好，又悅人眼目，並且因使人有智慧而令人喜愛，就摘下果實吃了，還給了與她在一起的丈夫，她丈夫也吃了。

求你使我轉眼不看虛妄的事，使我在你的道路上存活。

再睡一會兒，再打盹一會兒，再抱著雙手躺一會兒，你的貧窮就會像強盜來到，你的缺乏就會像拿兵器的人來到。

嫵媚是虛假的，美貌是虛幻的；唯有敬畏耶和華的女子必受稱讚。

由此可見，我們不要像其他人那樣睡著了，而要警醒、謹慎。因為睡覺的人是在夜裡睡，醉酒的人是在夜裡醉。

耶穌回到門徒們那裡，看見他們睡著了，就對彼得說：「你們怎麼就不能與我一同警醒一個小時呢？要警醒禱告，免得陷入試探。你們心靈雖然願意，肉體卻是軟弱的。」

他們進屋時，伊施波設正躺在臥室的床上。他們刺死他，砍下他的頭，然後拿著頭顱，沿著亞拉巴的路走了一整夜。

神的兒子們看到人的女兒們美麗，就從中任意挑選，為自己娶來為妻。

萬物的結局臨近了，所以你們為了禱告的緣故應當清醒、謹慎。

懶惰使人陷入沉睡，懶散的人必會挨餓。

那地的族長希未人哈抹的兒子示劍看見她，就抓住她，與她同睡，玷辱了她。

我在暗中告訴你們的，你們要在明處說出來；你們在耳邊聽到的，要在屋頂上宣揚出去。

然後他們從高所下來進城，撒母耳與掃羅在屋頂上說話。

有一天，比錄人臨門的兒子利甲和巴納前去，在白天最熱的時候來到伊施波設的家，他正在睡午覺。

他把自己所擁有的一切都交託在約瑟的手中；有約瑟在，他除了自己吃的飯以外，什麼事都不理會。約瑟有著健美的身材、俊美的容貌。
