豔麗是虛假的，美貌是短暫的，唯有敬畏耶和華的女子配得稱讚。

耶路撒冷的房屋和猶大君王的宮殿將被玷污，像陀斐特一樣，因為他們在房頂向天上的萬象燒香，向別的神明奠酒。』」

所以不要像其他人一樣沉睡，要警醒戒備，因為睡覺的人是在夜裡睡，醉酒的人是在夜裡醉。

耶穌回到三個門徒那裡，見他們都睡著了，就對彼得說：「難道你們不能跟我一同警醒一時嗎？你們要警醒禱告，免得陷入誘惑。你們的心靈雖然願意，肉體卻很軟弱。」

上帝的兒子們看見人的女兒漂亮，就隨意選來做妻子。

萬物的盡頭快到了。因此，你們要謹慎自律，警醒禱告。

懶惰使人沉睡，懈怠使人挨餓。
